Space Station / Habitat Die-Drop Table

My second die-drop table ever is finally done. This was supposed to be the last map/resource for January, but I had a pretty hectic week and I had to push this over the weekend. 

This time there isn't really a story for this piece of work, partly because it's intention is in a way to help creating stories through various random encounters and locations it generates. 

I've actually had something like this in mind already for some time, but never really got to do this. When I did the ruined city die-drop table for the last #mapvember, everything kind of locked in place. That was when I figured out that die-drop tables would be pretty perfect for handling huge locations and structures like cities, space stations and such. 

This die-drop table is designed for use in various science fiction settings and it should be suitable for all kinds of space stations, colony habitats and even huge capital ships. I friend of mine who has served in the US Navy pointed out a few pretty obvious facilities a spaceship should have, so I thought that this die-drop table is just for stationary structures and I'll make a separate one for spaceships later :)

How Do You Use This?

Using die-drop tables is actually pretty simple: 

• Print out the map (A4 / Letter)
• Put the printed map into a tray (a cover of an RPG box or suitable board game is pretty perfect) 
• Pick a die (this map was designed mainly to be used with a d10) and roll it over the map. 
• The result is where the die lands, and if there are sub-results you can use the rolled die result, if applicable.  Sometimes the sub-results require additional rolls. 

Personally I like to build the die drop table over a map, because I feel that it might offer some extra inspiration. You could for example roll two dice on the table, the first one shows the block or location and the second result shows the map piece. And you could combine these results how ever you like and what suits the situation the best. 

And it's totally OK to interpret the die results how ever you like. If you feel that rolling a 1 over Armory means that the player characters trigger an alarm when they enter the room, that's totally fine.
