January Recap
Let's start with the January recap.
First of all, thank you for your support! Your support makes it possible for me to keep on creating new maps and building new features to save your time and help you in your games.
In January I released three new maps and one asset pack. This was less than I had planned, and the reason for this is the time I lost while being sick and recovering from covid. This month I expect to get back to a more steady release pace and work on some other improvements on the side.
Small Xenomorph Nest [20x20]

I wanted to do a map with Alien vibes, and there was a map that was missing from the Outpost Sisyphus scenario. I also wrote a short scenario to go with this map (Available at Hero+ tier).
Pilgrim-Class Hauler Deckplans [32x44]

This is another small/medium-sized freighter deckplan that can be used as a mobile base for the characters or a ship in distress, for example.
This map comes with some descriptions of different areas of the ship.
This map was done in collaboration with Design Ministries and will be featured in the upcoming 2nd edition of Fragged Empire sci-fi RPG
Space Station Bodega [16x22]

This map features a small shop suitable for cyberpunk or science fiction settings. Originally, I got the idea from Starfinder's Dead Suns adventure path. There was a scene that would have needed this sort of map, but I did not have one available at that time.
This map comes with descriptions of different areas of this map and some quick NPC descriptions to throw into your games.
Sci-fi Shop Asset Pack & Blood Splatter Decals

These two packs included 265 new props and decals (including color variants).
Miska's Maps Website Update and Map Gallery
Besides the maps and assets, I relaunched the completely revised Miska's Maps website with a map gallery.
The gallery has previews of all VTT-ready (published since January 2020) maps and their variants. Each map also has a link back to its Patreon page where you can find links to your downloads.
There are more updates on the way as soon as I have time to implement these. For example, in the future, you will find asset packs, Foundry modules, and other relevant content in their own categories in the gallery.
Plans for February
For February I plan to release at least 4 new map packs and 1-2 asset packs, plus some new modules/decks for the Infinite Rocket.
Besides these, I have plans to have the Dungeondraft asset pack updated and work on the Moulinette Cloud integration for Foundry VTT.
I will also start making short videos featuring the latest releases and Foundry VTT modules/scenes, and other updates and news. The first video should be out later this week or early next week.
Deckplan of the Month
Last but not least is the Deckplan of the Month poll. Deckplans have always been popular releases and I've tried to find ways to release more of them. I've had bad experiences with monthly themes (I tend to get stuck with those and lose my creative momentum). So, to keep the deckplans coming, I decided to try something new – Deckplan of the month.
Regardless of other themes or maps that I'm working on, I aim to make at least one new deckplan per month. This might be a functional ship, a part of a bigger ship, a crashlanded derelict, or maybe even a large ground vehicle. The main idea is that these are more than just limited battle maps or modular pieces. The size and style will vary. I will prioritize the chosen deckplan based on your votes and I might combine some concepts if there are multiple popular choices.
Without further ado, here are this month's nominees. Please, vote for your favorite by the 10th of February.
Best,
Miska

A note about the ship types:
- Thrust-gravity: tower-like ships where the decks are stacked vertically.
- Spin-gravity: These ships and stations usually have a spine or axis that is surrounded by a wheel or spinning modules.
- Space opera: ships with horizontal layout and some form of artificial gravity.
Comments
Sure it can be played like that. Of course, there is the fact that the direction of gravity changes when switching between spin and thrust gravity, so that would need to be taken into account. The modules could rotate to accommodate these changes, for example.
