News & Updates - and A Quick Preference Poll

Hi everyone,

Sorry for the radio silence and delay with the new releases. For the past three weeks, I've been quite busy setting up the new office for Miska's Maps and helping out a potential new part-time team member who would be helping with cartography and Foundry VTT integration.

Level 2 Office

After years of working from home and one year of remote work with Leo, we finally have a small office dedicated to making maps, TTRPG art, and writing. This is just a small office, but it's a step towards something much more serious than drawing maps in the basement and living room sofa :) And this is possible only thanks to your support.

However, moving to a new office was not planned. I happened to find a nice office in a great location with a fair price, so I could not pass up this opportunity.

Without your patronage, my map-making would still be just a hobby. I could not dedicate 100% of my working time (and often a bit more than that :) ) to making maps and developing Miska's Maps to provide you with more regular, useful, and inspiring content.

I'm very grateful to you for trusting Miska's Maps and supporting our work.

Foundry VTT Updates

With the unexpected office move and the still ongoing Foundry VTT version transition, there's been a delay in updating the Foundry VTT modules.

Also, there was a good point brought up by one my patrons that the recently used adventure documents do not allow importing individual scenes. Based on the recent poll, we are rolling back to scene compendiums instead of the adventure documents.

Action Plan:

• We will save the use of adventure documents for possible adventure modules.
• Regarding the Foundry VTT versions, there still seem to be so many v10 users that we will update and create the new modules for v10 first and v11 after that.

Coming Soon...

The Luminary deckplan is finally ready after a few iterations, and we will be finishing the complimentary ATV and shuttle deckplans next week. Luminary will come out next week, and the other deckplans the week after.

On top of these, we have three new Cyberpunk Maps coming up. These will come out during the next two weeks.

Wireframes or Dungeondraft

There have been requests to create simplified wireframes or blueprints of deckplans and building plans. Unfortunately, wireframes and the use of dungeondraft in creating maps rule each other out. In general, we have been moving to use both Dungeondraft and Photoshop in creating maps, so at this point, this has become primarily a question of emphasis.

If there is a much greater demand for adding wireframe/blueprint versions of the maps than having the editable Dungeondraft map file, I will seriously consider making this change.
