Guerratore, the Human Loomguard

Guerratore Assedio is a giant man with a child’s heart.

Growing up the son of a blacksmith in Loomside, he watched countless adventurers purchase equipment from his father, instilling in Guerratore a familial duty to protect the brave explorers of the subterranean frontier. He wanted to honor that duty firsthand by joining the Loomguard: the noble guild known for sending parties into the caves below to protect miners and divers alike. Thanks to his immense size, he was able to talk his way into the guild at age 14.

But as Guerratore’s skills grew, so too did his disenchantment. He slowly found that nearly all of the people he once saw as brave adventurers were simply treasure hunters and mercenaries for hire, with the Loomguard little more than a group of uniformed sellswords. After nearly 20 years, Guerratore stepped away from the guild, continuing to work as a diver while looking for people he felt were worth protecting.

One day, Guerratore caught red-handed a thief-to-be, by the name of Solierre, nearly making off with his father's prized hammer. And the confrontation might have gone bad, were it not for the mage with the thief, called Rysza.

Guerratore is a human fighter NPC with a Challenge Rating of 5, and his release includes the following:

• His character card, which includes his character art and NPC stat block
• Chonk, a hulking greatsword that deals additional bludgeoning damage from its massive weight.
• The Loomguard Coat, a set of splint armor that doubles your carrying capacity.
• The Loomguard Helm, a helmet that gives you darkvision and grants an additional ability when paired with the Loomguard Coat.
• The Nail Driver, a light hammer that magically drives nails into creatures it hits.
• Shieldwheel, a round shield that can be animated to roll along the ground to either attack your enemies or protect your allies.
