It has been brought to my attention that it has appeared as if we have been dodging the question (unintentionally) why Kylin is pursuing music and not modeling...I have been told that several people feel that we haven't provided a good explanation as to why...hopefully this explanation satisfy's those who feel we have avoided the issue...I have chosen to share this with all of you, incase you might have had the same question.
Added 2023-03-07 21:56:55 +0000 UTCKylin was supposed to have 2 modeling shows by now...to be perfectly frank, the 2 shows that we had paid thousands of dollars for and signed contracts was a fraud...needless to say that last year was a very difficult year financially as the money defrauded to date could have bought Kylin a small house. As you know we have never asked people to buy anything, and have not raised Patreon prices as promised, and she has never sold products/posts on social media so her work and your support on Patreon basically supports her entire career.
As far as modeling goes, because she was associated with the people that scammed her out of the 2 shows, their reputation in the modeling world then brought down Kylins image as well just by being guilty by association, when in reality, Kylin was the real victim in the situation. Why couldn't we sue? Well these people were smart, and basically left LA and moved back to their country so suing them was basically impossible and on top of that, not sure if they had any money to recover.
We CHOSE NOT to participate in runway shows as you are expected to pay for your own hotel and lodging and do not get paid to walk runways. There is very little money in the modeling industry unless you are already someone.
Besides, modeling to me is not really a talent that you can lean on for the rest of your life, and I prefered Kylin to persue a talent that she could have and develop into a career for as long as she wanted.
Some think that Kylin's singing isn't good enough to do it professionally, and I have to disagree on that but respect the opinion of the person who conveyed this to us. Kylin started taking voice lessons 3 years ago, and now is taking voice lessons 5 times a week. Did she get a later start than some people, yes but in fairness, she took choir and was 1 or 2 selected in her entire school for the national finals and was first chair in her band so she has had musicality before now.
Kylin was discovered by a very big music producer who recognized her talent as an artist and Kylin wanted to persue this path and so we have dedicated 100% of her time to developing her skills as a music artist, as well as dance and guitar to support her career choice. I have asked Kylin many times if this is the path that she wants to take as I have my own personal fears of the potential strain on her voice and body as a professional artist touring the world, but she has reassured me over and over that this is what SHE wants to do. As her mother, I will always support her and my son in whatever path they choose to do so it is my duty to make sure she gets the resources that she needs as well as to make sure that she stays safe while pursuing her dreams. Kylins dreams requires personal sacrifices for me as well, as I drive an hour and a half to her lessons and then sit in the car for 4-5 hours every night in addition to managing/creating content for socials and Patreon, photos, videos, editing as well as being full time manager.
More importantly, we hope that this provides a satisfactory explanation of the why behind not pursuing modeling and instead her music career. We really do appreciate your generosity and willingness to support Kylin as she makes her way to making an impact on this world.

KYLIN is one very talented young ladies. I have supported her on multiple platforms for a long time now. Seen her grow in talent and also seen some of her struggles. I will continue my support for her and keep hyping her up to people I know within the industry in hopes of helping her get recognized as the talent she is.

In MHO, without a good agent or manager (absent nepotism), talent and drive are almost always insufficient. Look at the Entertainment success stories: their eyes are almost always dead. I personally feel Kylin is a great actress, and a good fit is the Christian streaming sites (e.g., Pureflix, etc.). Pursue your dream, but be super cautious about attempts to compromise your integrity. Kylin has a weakness for material things, a bad omen. God, marriage/monogomy, family - the real prize.

It was obvious to me that Kylin is very musically talented and had pursued music previously but it wasn't the right fit for her with the previous attempt. Like you said, modeling is a tough industry and very short lived usually unless you happened to get very lucky and become one of the few supermodels. Even that is changing with many companies trying to be more diverse with models of all shapes and sizes so being a traditional type of model works against you now it seems. It's terrible that you were defrauded and I am sure that further sours you against pursuing modeling after that experience. Because they were TV shows, I imagine that it made you both gun shy about pursuing acting even though Kylin was making impressive strides in acting before this opportunity with the very big music producer and all the changes including moving to Florida that it involved. We all want the best for Kylin and we appreciate all the sacrifices you make on her behalf and your incredible support for her from the beginning! With you supporting her dreams, she will achieve them and I can see that Kylin is very motivated working so hard!
