Cobwebs and ghosts are about to go out of style in the next few hours (making this very obviously a "this was supposed to be done during Halloween" thing, but my health kind of disagreed on that matter), so no better time than now for me to start picking them up and giving them another use. It probably doesn't count as recycling, but it does count as fun. And I'm happy to report that it will be ready for sharing, soon!
I would also like to apologize to all the spiders that were made homeless by this sequence; but if I may dabble into a bit of victim blaming, maybe don't build your webs in a crypt owned and haunted by... actually probably any Ascalonian.
This setup is familiar to everyone who ever started playing a charr. The tutorial instance with its fight against a very angry ghost of Duke Barradin is what kickstarted the journey of many charr commanders, and the unusually tight narrative circle of the charr early story sent surprisingly lasting ripples across several chapters.
It was one of my earlier comic ideas that was on my "maybe one day" list for quite a while. Later on, it got pushed further to reality when I pitched it to the Wintersday Zine as a story idea. It ultimately went unchosen, but once the basic storyboard pitch was there, all I had to do was wait for the right moment.
It is also not the only comic currently in the finishing touches, but that is for another post. See you soon with some letters, remaining pages and synergized hues and values! (And don't eat all the candy corn at once.)
Thank you and stay safe.
