Augur Book 3 - Ch 2
Added 2025-05-17 14:23:23 +0000 UTCWork continues to be a beast, and while health issues have made it harder to write than I like, I've been continuing to work when I can.
Chapter 2 is relatively short - it's intended to be more of a bridge and give some introduction and setup for things that will come up later.
I'm including a 'Chapter 3' here, but I'll probably re-write two thirds or more of this, so think of it more as an Omake - a bonus scene of questionable canonicity.

I wrote the first Augur using Google Docs, and moved away from it for a couple of reasons. The first was that while GDocs does allow good sharing and revision history, I absolutely hate the way it renders large files . Rather than having them as actual text, it does the whole thing as an image, and you can only use its built in search. In terms of actual writing, I vastly prefer Scrivener, which is the tool I've settled on. It's really only in terms of sharing that it falls short, and that's 99% just me not paying enough attention when I actually share the files.

2025-05-17 21:02:20 +0000 UTCAlso, I don't know what tools you're using, but since your works undergo significant revisions, have you considered using Google Docs to write them and just sharing a link to it, with only you and your editor allowed to make changes?

2025-05-17 19:57:45 +0000 UTCOf the three docx files so far, the second and third are identical, and both of those appear to contain all of the first chapter at the start. I'm very happy to see them, though, since I really like Augur and I want to see the rest of it on my Kindle, sooner rather than later. Harem Hotel interests me much less. (Magic Notebook is fun though.)
