Hi Glenn, are you able to get over to the Discord? It would be the best place to get some help

Christopher

Hello, can you help me? im trying to activate the wipe on my P1S, but it still does its own thing. I've watched the vid and still nothing. Can you help me? im on Bambu Studio

glenn calrissian

Hi! I bought the full Steinwiper bundle from here but I got lost following the instructions listed here, which don't match with the folders found in the bundle and also there is no full video that will take a client from step one to last step in easy to follow instructions. There are only bits of videos which shows you how the wiper works, how to set the tool to drill the holes, content of the machine g-code/firmware modifications etc. but no complete one. Please simplify the download bundle folder content, get rid of the "old files" which I assume are not needed as new updated ones are in place, structure them according to the instruction rule/name set and add a step by step tutorial text/video that covers all steps, to take a completely beginner/advanced 3d printing user easily through the complete process. Thank you very much for your work and please take my comment as a kind suggestion to help your future clients and existing ones maybe! I'm sure it was a hard working project and still continues to be and I really appreciate that!

I just set up SteinWipe for my X1 Carbon and for some reason it won't allow me to change the nozzle size from 0.4mm to anything else. I have been currently printing with a 0.6mm nozzle so I had to switch to my X1 Carbon stock setting to select it and print. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Richard Frey

On my P1S, its definitely a problem... i used the 0.00 wiper bracket, and it hits HARD every time to the point its unuseable when I have the Panda Revo installed. I know my nozzle is screwed in all the way, so its not that... but its definitely longer than the stock nozzle.

Hi Saleh, I remember our first conversation on YouTube. I looked through you account and cant seem to find any purchase from you. Is it your dad who maybe purchased the initial files? I just need his name so I can see the original order. Thank you

Christopher

Hello again! A while ago i bought this package. but now when i came back to look for the new files, i realized that you didnt include the new bed shape for orca slicer. was that on purpose or did you forget? either way could you please send me the file. Thanks alot!

Saleh Zinalabdin

There is an X1C here with the same kit - no problems so far :)

Christopher

Does this work with the Panda Revo for the P1S?

Jesus B

Hi Dean, are you using the X1C, too?

Christopher

Hi Saleh, I havent released the code for the X1C as of yet and the current AMS beta I just released has no mention of the X1 features like lidar as you mentioned; I need to dial-in the AMS code for the P1 series before moving on. That and I dont have an X1C to test on, Im still waiting for Bambu to ship my order. You offered up testing so I will definitely take you up on that when I get some code ready for this machine. In the mean time, sit tight, Im on it!

Christopher

for me i just edited the code to use the same loading/purging filament sequence as the stock code, but still has the perks of the modified code. so now it has ams compatibilty. still refining the code tho

Saleh Zinalabdin

I have the same issue. It turns out that the code has no mention of ams so the machine won’t load from it. The work around if you can’t access the beta is to load the filament before printing.

Dean Hobson-Campbell

Hey! future me here. Just wanted to say a few things after testing out the code on my x1c with ams. Firstly I know see why people are awaiting the ams update. it doesnt seem to load filament properly for me, and since im still awaiting the a1 wiper pads, i couldnt get to use the stein wipe. i have turned on the use less filament in the prime/flush stein switch, but that didnt work properly either, it would hop the bed in the nozzle cleaning, i assume thats because i didnt enable the stein wipe yet? Lastly the Dynamic bed leveling didnt work for me when i turned bed leveling on. im not sure if im supposed to or not. i didnt have enough time because i bought the kit at 10:30 pm. so i was just rushing things. I cant wait to see what you accomplish with the x1c and ams. the lidar calibration will change very many things in my opinion.

Saleh Zinalabdin

Great work over here! I cant wait to buy the things for this! Im using an X1C with the ams. cant wait for the ams update! As I own a X1C with the ams, I would be more than happy to let you test things on my printer. Quick question, I know that these features would work in bambu studio, but do they work in bambu handy?

Saleh Zinalabdin

Hi Sara, if you bring in the STL file to bambu studio, set the layer height to where the bridging takes place, then with the Z slider on the right, right click the handle and add pause. Make sure you reslice so the Gcode updates. I will add a 3MF in the next update :)

Christopher

Are you going to add in the 3mf files to this by any chance? Was looking to print the backing plate but I'd have to manually add the pause to place the nuts in (no big deal) but for others it may be helpful. Thanks!

Sara

Man that lidar system sounds so cool! Im still considering buying the machine before the sale is over. I started writing the code for this and ams anyway. I can test in chunks when the machines arrive or if Im feeling good about the code, I can offer something for you guys to give a try, too.

Christopher

Haha yes its a marvel of code and you are probably right about that alot of different people have hade input when writing the g-code, regarding the plates the x1 carbon can read the code on the build plate to determine if it matches what is sent via the slicer, it also uses lidar lasers to read a micro lidar code sticker when calibrating parameters. The plate code reading can be turned of but not the calibration sticker! I am replacing the bed with a 4mm aluminium aftermarket bed when parts arrive :-) If you need machine code let me know! Bed leveling is done by nozzle probing, z- offset is set in g-code and it differs for different plates, that can also be altered!

Richard Hallbäck

A gentleman and a scholar you are, Richard! Ill keep it in mind :) I just had a good look at the X1C startup code and while there are many similarities, there are some things that make no sense and I really need to test it. Like, does this machine not have bed plate detection? I know the P1s dont recognize G39 to flag the bed. I always thought the X1 did but I dont see it anywhere in the code.. and the $200 A1 mini, can lol.. anyway, it really feels like 10 different people wrote the code and firmware for these machines lol. I think Im going to have to suck it up and get one before the sale is over.

Christopher

If you want to I could test it for you on a X1c and give you feedback :-) just let me know if I can help!

Richard Hallbäck

That would be verry nice, i bouth it also and will wait for the update. as a idea, it would be pritty nice to adjust the speed in the slicer so that we can define it lower for example, to reduce the wear.

Mischa Trier

Hi Mark! Yes, sorry its not ready just yet for AMS as I don't have an AMS on any of my machines for test. But good news, along with your support and many others, I think the sales from this release will get an AMS on one of my machines in no time so you can expect delivery of AMS compatibility in the next few weeks! Thank you so much for your support!

Christopher

Signed up and bought SteinWipe, looks impressive but as I use the AMS I'll have to sit tight and wait for the AMS compatible version.

Mark Matts

Hi Richard, Great question! Currently, the P1 SteinWipe is designed specifically for the Bambu Lab P1P and P1S printers. The mount may fit the X1, but I haven’t been able to test it with the X1 Carbon or P1 with AMS, simply because I don’t own those machines yet. I try to be intentional with my purchases, and since I haven’t had a personal or project-related need for this equipment, they’re not in my arsenal right now. That said, if this project gains enough support to cover the costs (I think its about $2500 after tax and delivery for X1 combo and an AMS for one of my P1 machines), I’d be thrilled to add the X1C and AMS to my setup and develop the code. That way, I can ensure compatibility and deliver a solution that works seamlessly across the entire Bambu ecosystem :) Thanks for your interest, and if you have any other questions, feel free to ask! – Leckiestein

Christopher

Does it work with the X1 Carbon? :-)
