So many OP characters lol. That landlady especially was badass and I loved how the characters changed throughout the movie. The main character starts off as this gangster wannabe who is absolutely crap at being one but ends up becoming this legendary Kung Fu master with the power of the Buddhist palm. I love how the landlord and landlady couple also became badass' and wrecked the the Sound Ninja musicians lmao. But I was sad that the three people who were really skilled at Kung Fu died :(
So many random moments were so wacky, unconventional and funny lmao but I'm glad that there was a character-driven plot to it, glad the main character changed in the end and reunited with that girl he protected all those years ago.
This is truly hilarious, a must-watch if you don't mind bizarre cartoon-like humour.

2021-03-17 16:36:03 +0000 UTCStephen Chow was an anime fan before and after he was famous. He referenced many anime style troll and comedy in his movie. And I saw a scene in one of his last directed movie "Mermaid" (but I can't find it anywhere), the police drew a mermaid picture and mocked the protagonist who said he saw a mermaid from which was referenced to Luffy's drawing of a mermaid in episode 2x. Surprise and hilarious. And another point is that he liked to make shine to the underdog characters, maybe because he once was underdog before he was famous. Have you watch Shaolin Soccer? That was a gold one, really good back in 2003 and 2004.

It might be that I just lowered the volume too much for the movie in my reaction but only because the music in the movie can get really loud. Do you wear headphones when watching reactions? With headphones it would be better. Or you can download the movie file and sync that with the reaction if the movie's volume is too low :/
