I legit think Walt loved Jesse like a son. But then again I was and still am Team Walt all the way through. If it wasn’t for the dumb things Jesse did and what Walt did to pull him out of the fire (I.e. running over Gus’ dealers) than Walt would very likely be still cooking meth with Gus in a fruitful business arrangement, Gale would be alive, Mike, that dirt bike kid, etc

what YOU forgot to leave out was that jesse has a conscience. He felt horrible for killing Gale and it showed all through out season 4. Todd kills a kid and walt goes about whistling. Jesse has made mistakes yes MISTAKES and he has paid for them greatly. Walt is the truly evil villian of the show.

There are a LOT of things Rana and Hannah are either forgetting or overlooking in terms of their assessment of Walt and his actions. Nothing in BB and almost none of the characters are blatantly good or bad, which is one of the reasons the show is so fascinating. Jessie has absolutely done some vile and evil things, all on his own and without Walt's help. He's also done some incredibly stupid things which have lead to others being hurt--seriously, you let your girlfriend try and blackmail a meth dealer--on YOUR behalf? You go to rehab meetings for the sole purpose of getting recovering addicts to get hooked on your meth so you can make money? You even start dating a recovering addict just to try and get her hooked again...and this is after your previous gf died of a drug overdose after going 18 months sober before meeting you? WTF, man lol...it's like Jesse has no real code to follow except when it comes to kids.

This is one of the few scenes that i can never come to a full conclusion. Walt is definitely being genuine, but i think even he doesnt see past his own act of manipulation, even if its for Jesse's well being

The Walt hate is totally justified, however the only thing I take issue with some people is that desert scene. That scene is written to make it appear as if Walt is fucking with Jesse one last time but in reality its the first time in a while where he's being completely genuine with Jesse.
