#SundayRundown Scanlan has a magic key and Vex owes him a favor for the broom. I mean, what could go wrong? (These things played out differently in the show vs table, both are fun)

Mythcarver was huge while possessed by the Sphinx and shrank so scanlan could use it. Then grew to a colossal size so the dragon could wield it. I think the dragon could any vestige. My fan theory is Thordak was seeking gold to convert / grow his brood via magic or what ever hand wave you wish. If you want Amazon has a early animation scene of the next series up on youtube called The Mighty Nein.

Quick recap on dragons and their colors- Red 🔥- biggest and strongest and angriest Blue ⛈️- Mom’s second favorite storm caller Green 🐍- Tricky sneaky silver tongue bastards playing game of thrones with everyone who isn’t them. Black 💀- We know them much more intimately now. Where other dragons do evil and bad things to fulfill their own selfish needs, black dragons know EXACTLY what they’re doing wrong, and do it because it’s fun… evil… also they are OBSESSED with power. (REALLY wanted those vestiges. And it was his end) White ❄️- Typically the weakest and dumbest lol but as we saw, they’re beefy bastards. Hunters. They love a good fight and love a good chase. Lastly, I’d like to mention something people don’t often mention! In D&D and Pathfinder, super powerful “Legendary Creatures” like dragons are so powerful, the malleable material plane changes with their influence. You can see this with how Thordak made Emon a literal volcano when… I mean it was just a mountain. ‼️BUT‼️ Not only that, if one of these creatures stays in a spot for a while, they make it an extension of themselves. The terrain literally gets a turn in combat on their side!! These turns are called “Lair Actions” So far we’ve seen BOTH dragon’s we’ve killed use a lair action. When Brimsythe (blue ⛈️) fought the party, he electrified the gold around their feet! And when Umbrasyl had the group cornered, he roared and set the rocks around Vox Machina to EXPLODE with acid. Pro tip: You NEVER want to fight a legendary creature in its Lair, it’s 10x harder and the show really shows that off well… unfortunately they also know that… that’s why they always run home

2025-05-13 04:54:45 +0000 UTCThis show does justice to dragons. In the game, dragons are OP and they depict that fact very well. TLOVM has the best dragons this side of The Hobbit Trilogy's Smaug (although Vox Machina is IMO much better than Peter Jackson's Hobbit movies).

I take some issue with the third season not only for WILD departures from the established story but also for totally going against things they established within the animated series. As non-critters though I doubt you'll have any complaints unless you've been closely keeping track of lore they establish in the animated series.
