I see both of your points honestly, they both "sabotaged" their respective relationships in a way. And I definitely don't agree with Ross all the time but at least it was a little bit understandable for him as he had been madly in love with Rachel for like 10 years. That and also the fact that technically Rachel and Paolo weren't actually in a relationship yet, makes it a bit different as well.

2025-01-05 08:13:21 +0000 UTCWhat Ross did in that one episode she referred to is trying to sabotage. He told Paolo that him and Rachel were a thing and if Paolo gets involved, Ross will be sad. Rachel really wanted Paolo at that point, it was obvious, Ross could see. If Paolo had listened to Ross and not responded to Rachel's interest, Rachel would have been the one sad. Because of Ross meddling. And ruining that possibility for her. (Also, at that point we didn't know Paolo wasn't a good guy, he could have been, for all Ross knew at the time)

2025-01-05 05:01:20 +0000 UTCI don’t know how old you are but I’ll assume you are in your 20s. I’m going to push back on your opinion about ending up alone. As a young woman who has her whole life ahead of her you can’t understand the overwhelming level of sadness you feel when you are alone forever. I had an uncle who was very successful with women as a young man but just like chandler and Mr heckles had issues committing to any of them for silly reasons. He ended up alone for the rest of his life after he reached his late thirties and died last year aged 78. Every time I visited him in recent years he would tell me how much he regretted his entire life that he never found someone and had a family and told me not to make the same mistake as him. I guarantee there are millions of examples just like that out in the world We are all still young so cannot fathom the amount of pain people that end up alone forever feel. I personally hate current societal norms regarding staying single or living your best life, that’s all nonsense to me. Sadly so many modern people will not realise they have been swindled by the system until it is too late.

2025-01-04 18:33:16 +0000 UTCIt's actually really interesting watching all of these episodes again for the first time after learning that both Ross and Rachel had a crush on each other in real life at around this time. I don't remember when the crush began or stopped, but I can see how their acting is enhanced by it. I think season 2 is my favorite, honestly.
