WAIT, I just realized that neither book nor movie final battle use things like Arthur being a big Muggle tech nut and owning a FLYING CAR so it thematically ties into the Death Eaters/Voldemort hating Muggles if he used it here, so like he could be flying+driving the car around with wizards hanging out murking guys. Oh and remember all the focus on Quidditch? We never get a big rallying moment where the Quidditch bros recite the team motto while flying around on broomsticks and throwing explosives. In fact, for being witches and wizards, we hear a lot about Death Eaters mortaring Hogwarts but no one on either side is using brooms. WTF.

Remember the orc with the torch doing the big run in Helm's Deep? By then you already know just seeing that guy that it's BAD news for the defenders.

2021-03-21 01:32:22 +0000 UTCFinally got around to this episode and what a journey it has been. For the movie itself, the battle probably needs to be /long/ to properly adapt it and it's a slight improvement on the book version (which constantly stops for exposition and stupid asides) but a main issue of the book is still present: the geography of the battle is just not well handled. It's hard to see how it all fits together and like you said they unbelievably don't have every notable character get a cool moment, like how if you are filmmaker do you not throw in werewolf vs. werewolf. Just unthinkable.
