Look, cut me some slack here. It's the festive period, we're winding down, no-one gets any work done the week before Christmas. Ignore the fact that I'm writing this over a month in advance and accept that this week just isn't gonna be a barn-burner. They can't all be Al Simmons.
Hey did you know the scene following this is a direct Citizen Kane reference?


This entire episode is basically a Citizen Kane parody, the most direct one they do, although several episodes are peppered with little Citizen Kane references that most certainly flew right over my head the first hundred times I watched them. Burns is often used as a stand-in for Charles Foster Kane (including his first name being Charles), but it wasn't until I actually finally watched the film in my early twenties I noticed how much The Simpsons went to that (Orson) Well(es).
