We happened to have one single person on our team, who was actually able to withstand the scent of a wild Gloom. They grew up in the area where a number of them grew, and as a result were most accustomed to it. As for all other researchers, we had to stick with getting information from domesticated Gloom, as they tend to trust humans enough to not release their nearly toxic scent on sight. Surprisingly, if you get close enough to kiss one, the sap is actually reported differently in different places. Some call it sweet, others call it the source of their stench. Analysis revealed that Gloom can mix their toxins in with the sap they drool, making it a combination of both, likely to kill prey that dare to take its sap. When it isn't mixed, however, it tastes similar to raw honey. This is important in breeding, because instead of the usual water-like fluids, the fluids of a Gloom act similarly to that sap. It tends to always be thick, sticky, and if it ends up on your skin, it will probably be there for a while. This is beneficial for breeding, because it allows a male Gloom to keep his seed in a female for a long time, while a female heavily encourages staying as deep inside as possible for their own insemination. Its unique shape for both male and female genitalia make it an incredibly exotic choice, but for any trainers, breeders, or otherwise excited users finding this data, do not approach a wild Gloom under any circumstances, unless you are prepared and willing to handle the scent. The one researcher we have that could handle it reported the scent, in higher concentrations than usual, to be nearly intoxicating, with similar results to some current medicines. Despite that, it gave no actual benefit, and cannot be of medicinal use, only for those with such a niche fetish.
