Project Castellón: Part 1

Here we go! The original 3 series and the oldest BMW on the channel!

We get familiar with the E21 in this episode and do the initial inspection. I'm super stoked for this project and can't wait to get it running & driving! It's totally different than the models I'm used to working on so this will be a big learning curve.

Not sure when the next episode is going to come but I'm eager to get it going. I still don't have any news regarding a new workshop, but I should have some answers this week.

As always, I tried to make it fun & entertaining! Hope you enjoy it!

Sure does.

Just realized this car greatly resembles the BMW used in one segment of Mission Impossible Fallout, right down to the color!

Do you know Worlduph? They provide OEM materials for classic german car owners (BMW aswell). Take a look on this: https://www.worlduph.com/images/samples/random/bmwcloth1.jpg

I am in favor of keeping the original but green on green, hmm, just imagine the white interior like this on this car: https://www.pinterest.com/pin/40884309090173243/

That's not a Nissan ;-D Let me know if you're passing through southern Zealand in Denmark, I'll buy you a coffee at a deserted motorway café :)

I sent Sreten some literature on how the system works. As with a lot of these older BMW's, people make a big fuss for nothing, just needs patience and a good mindset to figure out and repair whats wrong.

there's a set of green front seats on UK ebay at the mo. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/313503005352?hash=item48fe3c3aa8:g:7kUAAOSwSMZggYiU

Thank you and welcome! I'll be getting the car in Skovde and then might pop a day or two to Stockholmas I'll be traveling with my girlfriend.

I'm not sure yet, trying to decide on the date :)

6k which is a stellar deal given they sell around 20k restored.

No particular one, I just search everywhere,

Shows how much I know about them :D

Thanks and welcome!

I guess it's not exactly in his job description to help me push my car but they always help me so I always tip them. :)

So this video convinced me to become a Patreon 😁 Awesome work Sreten and such a lovely car. I live in Lund (south Sweden), let me know if you’re passing through so I can buy you a beer. Or if you need anything else!

Jacob Strand

Really nice find. Congrats. When will you be in Sweden? I’m backwards and forwards from Munich as my partner lives in Malmö. Really interested to see what you’re picking up from there!

Love the passion you have for these BMWs, good skills and excellent knowledge, love it ! keep em coming !!

Hello from Germany! I appreciate your work and humor a lot! Sadly there are no many YouTubers like you out there. I hope the best for this project and I wish you good luck! Toi toi toi and muchas gracias!

The video?

Cooooming up! Just came back from working night shift, breakfast/supper ready, let's go! Good luck with this rare gem!

Different project car, good. I like a lot restoring v12, but a change is welcome. I own the same car but with a S50B30 euro. Never could fix the mechanical bosch type fuel delivery here in my country. It had the rally gearbox too, it was the first BMW i saw and drove when young, it was way fast anything i knew. Keep it up!

Not working for me. :( All good now! Had to exit out come back in 5 mins. Grea car!

Cheers Sreten! Hi and for the sake of killing solitude i personally would recommend book author Rob Siegel aka Hack Mechanic and his book series on 70ties BMW's. Recently i bought "European Automotive Electrical Systems" - what a beautifully simple material on Bosch/Siemens early tech. https://www.amazon.de/s?k=hack+mechanic&ref=nb_sb_noss

How much you paid for this? I hope not much, cause it looks like it’s going to take a lot of money, new rebuilt engine, etc., etc., so it’s going to be interesting!! Good luck and I stand by your side on this one!!!

beautiful car

What websites do you use to find these gems?

This one is going to be interesting - good luck!

This should be on tv!!

If that rust is the worst rust there is, then you have done well there, my friend. I had an E21 316 that had rusted on the sills, right next to the jacking points (shown at 7:30 in the video). It was just starting to go when I bought it, but not too long after that both sides went to shit. You won't regret this one. Lots of oversteery fun. And those are getting rare and valuable now. It will only go up in value. Really looking forward to this project, even more so than the others. There was a famous drag car just like that Dodge called the Little Red Wagon. Was known for pulling insane wheelies (not by design, just as a result of moving the engine back to behind the cab), just like the Hurst Hemi Under Glass Barracuda.

👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

The Dodge, 3,217.6 miles, not 32,176 miles. Odometers of this era turned over at 99,999 miles.

Haha became a patron just for this vid. Can’t wait!

My best advice for K-jet is to straight off just replace every single vacuum line on the engine. Then lay out the cash for a good quality K-jet pressure tester and a manual. It's a weird system, but less complicated than people make it out to be. https://www.pelicanparts.com/catalog/shopcart/TOOL/POR_TOOL_WTD049_pg4.htm

What a beautiful car! I think my grandpa had the same car years ago. Can’t wait to see you working on it! Make us proud!

Nick Vaes (Woezzy)

out of curiosity, is the help of the delivery guy included or did you tip him (for his time and help)? edit: literally 1 minute after I posted this I got to the part where you said you tipped him nicely.

Can't wait to see how this build goes

Cheers! Thank you!

Also, I prefer the American version of that color: "Cashmere Metallic" very luxurious

I restored a 1982 E21 320i. I will be very surprised if you can source the plastic fuel lines for the 323. When you take them apart, be VERY gentle and careful not to break the ones you have. Also, have fun tuning the K-jet fuel system 😂 I truly can't wait for this build. It'll be nice to see how you tackle some of the things I had to tackle. Also, here's a tutorial I wrote on how to rebuild the sunroof crank system: https://www.bimmerforums.com/forum/showthread.php?2208992-Sunroof-Blues (maybe it can help? 🤷🏻‍♂️ I’m Hagbard in the thread)

Thumbs UP!

Lovely e21! Great project! Really excited about this build

I was hoping for a E21 323i! Finally :) in Germany it got the Nickname "Die Schubkarre" because of the dual Exhaust. Great Video again my dude!

Very cool 😎 love the 323i, so rare!

Beautiful car. This is going to be amazing 😁

Jason Gill

Super excited for this one!! I think that one of the knobs you were pulling was a starter choke? I remember from old cars my family had, it was supposed to help with starts in cold days, or something. We're totally in unknown territory, aren't we? Hahaha

Salva Barbus

Fantastic find! Should be one of your most interesting projects yet. Looking forward to the footage much

I’m so stoked for this one!!

Chad Baptiste

Haha brilliant! The suspense was killing me. Cant wait to see this one finished.

I've been living up to this episode for days! Thank you for producing such good and honest content. You really are bound to become really popular if you just keep to your style and be yourself. Greetings from the Netherlands!

Woooooohoooooo!!!
