Måndags Post

A short post on the progress of the update.
I was hoping to finish the update at the end of this month but it seems like I'll be finished sometime early next month. The new animations that were planned proved to be slightly more challenging that I originally thought. My buddy and I have developed a new script to help with the new kind of animations. This wasn't planned at all but do extend the posibilities for the future aswell.

It functions like this, it copies areas regardless of size to a new location. Since this is using what is already in memory this will not impact performance, regardless of hardware. I can basicly remodel the whole map in realtime while player is controlling the character with zero fps loss. Fancy stuff for sure, and of course the use of overlays do hinder the use of this new function but it can be adjusted to work with it. Which will be down to clever design I suppose. But this new function will be a god sent when working on future planned updates.

There is also one more script being worked on. It isn't finished yet and I might not have as much need for it as the previous one. But it is very similar to the script used for the animated battlers. In short it's like the animated battlers but it animates reglar npc's/stuff in the world the same way. And unlike increasing frames with variables these can then actually move around.(Yeah the old things that moved had a 3 frame stepping animation, using variables will cut out movement)

The new animations are close to being finished, I've added a few more of them and all the planned ones except for maybe one or two are already finished. And today I'm working on scenes and dialogs.

I hope that you'll enjoy the update.
Thank you for supporting my game making!

Yes and I forgot to write that the new script can also limit itself to just copy one layer and/or just one square if needed. Which could be useful for some animations, like smoke or just making decals on the ground(Both of which are done in the new scenes). Of course I'm sure that I'll find many cool ways of utilizing this new script, it's a game changer(litteraly) for sure :-) Hah well no one likes delays not even me :-P
