Elevator Pitch - Think Joan of Arcadia but relocated to the rust belt (Akron? wow...) and structured as the ultimate journey from a woman hitting rock bottom with substance abuse and going to rehab and then moving back to her home town and blowing the town away with insights and advice that lead some to believe she might be the Virgin Mary...
Some may think this is the hallmark girl moving back to home to revisit the life she left behind for the big city while reconnecting with the high school crush who was the "one that got away". The winter version of this thread has a community conflict like a lost Christmas tree needed for the pageant or an ice sculpture competition that pays the winner the exact amount needed for the missed mortgage payment. This is NOT that. It's a Lifetime pilot with a budget (they cast Laurie Metcalf) before Lifetime went full on crazy with 8 different movies in a single month about a niche theme of psychotic professionals that are total creepers...think Nightmare Nanny / Stalked by my Doctor / Deadly Daycare etc.
Why didn't this get a series order?? - my guess....too niche for it's own good before niche was the new mainstream... not spiritual enough to be touched by an angel and not relevant enough for all this amazing insight while the country was suffering with the recession of 2007.
Fair fact - I only watched half but it was because my plane was landing. I would have finished it, especially when you have limited options on a flight via your ipad. Please correct me if I do indeed have it all wrong or missed the point entirely.
