My hot take is leaving Denzel Curry out of my top 5 for AOTY even though it’s close I feel like it has lower lows than the albums in my top 5 which have no skips where I believe Denzel has only one skip with X-Wing. My top 5 contenders currently 5. 2000 4. Drill Music in Zion 3. Cheat Codes 2. The Forever Story 1. Mr Morale & The Big Steppers

Conway The Machine's GDMM gotta be in the conversation, such a great follow up to FKTG. JID's Forever Story is pretty soft locked in for mine rn.

Love the DMIZ Lupe love, and gotta agree with Lu with it edging over Cheat Codes for the same reasons. More focused/concise concept album, more creativity in the approach to songs with Precious Things, Kiosk, Ms. Mural, On Faux Nem all having some revolutionary ideas, and also had a problem with Cheat Codes mixing. Got DMIZ, MMESYF, MMTBS, TFS all in my top 5, and the one I'd add in here that seems to be forgotten (similar to Tana Talk 4), is God Don't Make Mistakes. I think it's the high mark for Griselda records in terms of versatility, subject matter, and personal impact, and fleshes out my top 5 this year.
