Removing all "short link" ads

Some of you may have noticed that I have recently removed all "short link" ads (Adfly) from my download links. I did it because of the awful unskippable ads that they are showing now. I'm not sure how long they've been doing it for but since I haven't gotten any complaints, it's probably not too long.
Since my Patreon page is focused around removing ads, I feel like letting you know about ad changes is important. I'm probably not going to ever use such links from now on because every single provider has disappointed me. Instead I added a new Google ad to the update page that the regular update notification links to, as a replacement. I have also slightly modified the Patreon goals to reflect this change. I know the goals need more changes though.

I'm currently testing a new link shortening option which offers very clean ads, most of which are Minecraft related. I'll post about it in a separate post if I decide to keep using it. Looks good so far.

2019-10-03 12:11:32 +0000 UTCYeah, Adf.ly used to be pretty safe compared to the alternatives but it's no longer the case. I wouldn't really call it "using Patreon instead of Adf.ly" as I use other ads now. Replacing all ads with Patreon is the plan though!
