Fighting the chill
Added 2021-12-30 08:17:41 +0000 UTCI've just got back from a few days with a friend who lives close to Australia's snow fields. Our ski season is short and unreliable and as someone that prefers warm weather, I haven't been down there for ages but my friend loves to ski and loves cold weather so he moved down there a few months ago. On Tuesday we did a long hike up to the top of Australia's highest mountain which sounds impressive but it's not. There is a very nicely graded path all the way up and families do it.
On the hike though we walked across the Snowy River and saw some absolutely spectacular landscapes and scenery. The whole time I was thinking "I'd love to photograph some beautiful nude male models in this landscape". But of course the water is cold, being snow run off (even now in Summer) and there were lots of people around so I'd have to find some different spots.
Then I recalled seeing the video above (and others) by Franz Fleissner who did a lot of shoots under the brand "Men of Scandinavia" with stunning men naked in snowy landscapes. It can be done but you need models that are not adverse to being a little cold.
