Wildly beautiful
Added 2024-03-05 07:30:01 +0000 UTCOn Saturday afternoon while the rest of gay Sydney was putting the final touches to party preparation for the Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras, I took myself off to see Dune Part Two.
Firstly, what an epic piece of storytelling this movie is. I was really moved, excited, scared, thrilled and just in awe of the movie. Now I'm trying to figure out what about it might inspire me. At first glance there might not be much of an overlap between the movie and my work and you'd probably be right in thinking that. There is no nudity in the movie at all.
My thought process is to be inspired by the visual finesse and amazing creativity in the movie. Can I find inspiration in techniques? Or is it just about pushing my craft?
My models are always quite surprised at how quickly I work. There are other photographers in Sydney who will spend 6-8 hours on a relatively simple studio shoot which stuns me but everyone works very differently. Maybe slowing down and planning my shoots more meticulously is a good idea?
Regardless, if you liked Dune Part One, go and see Part Two.
