this felt like a fever dream.

Not quite a 5 star only because I thought the Mars sequence lasted a bit too long compared to the time we got on Mercury and Titan, which felt a bit rushed. But I could see myself bumping it up a star on a reread. This was my first Vonnegut book and I was so captivated by his writing style. I'd often find myself giggling in one part and then be sad five minutes later because he'd drop some heartbreaking, poignant line about life. I love how wacky and utterly original the book is through it's presentation of the story and writing, yet how simple and relatable it really is at its core: questioning life, living in one's parent's shadow, etc. For me the big question the book asks is if we truly are able to better ourselves, or if it takes the world breaking us and forcing us to do sit. EDIT: only became aware of my typo once Shawn roasted me for it (as he should), so I can't change it now 😌
