Midnight Mass Episode 6 FIRST TIME REACTION

There are a few things to consider why he was mistaken about the "vampire" being an angel. For one, the creature seemed to be a fallen angel. His location, and how he was found by Father Paul (or Pruwit) reminded me alot of the fallen angel Belial. Belial (or Baal maybe) is said to be trapped in darkness in a cave in a specific place, I believe, because God imprisoned him there. It's very similar. Fallen angels are still angels they are just fallen. Which changes their appearance. Yes, it's true the Holy Angels who serve God are very complicated looking. Many of them. But there are still some that appear to look like traditional looking angels, but there are others that look much like humans too. All of the angels are very diverse in their appearance and they all can change that appearance for whatever serves God's purpose. The final thing to consider, and it is the actual reason for his mistake in identifying the creature appropriately, Father Paul was indeed nearly senile or had Alzheimer's pretty bad by the time he got to that cave. He was losing his mind, and that's normal for any human at such an old age, and not only that it is tragic that he was so far gone. He was quite ready for death as well. So he truly didn't have any will left to see correctly nor to survive as he was before he was transformed into his younger version. The story is this, even a well verse and decent priest who has a good heart, can even fall to temptation if the flesh & of the heart. And his situation wasn't anything to do with any cardinal sin he was struggling with. It was simply old age and death approached him in the form of a fallen angel. It's almost not even his fault that he did what he did, I think anybody would have and probably would have done worse. He had to figure out how to keep going with the choice he made. And it was a domino effect. At least he attempted to do good with his choice. So, now you know why. It was truly a mistake. A tragic one. But a beautiful one as well.

If anything, it's one of the reasons I take issue with the priest mistaking a demon for an angel with the excuse that angels have to say "be not afraid." I'm like any priest worth their shit knows angels say that because they're these rotating spheres of rings of flame wreathed in eyeballs. If any eldritch creature looking like that wanted to talk to me, it best start out with "be not afraid." To which I would respond with "FUUUUUUUUUUU-" I'm glad the vampire Angel I had a crush on as a kid looked like David Boreanaz and not a biblical angel. Ain't no hentai bitch.

My favorite episode of Midnight Mass yet! But the last episode takes the cake for me. Gonna start bingeing The Midnight Club with my bro in October, and I cannot wait! Stay awesome mates!

Angels as described in the Bible are entirely monstrous. Arch angels have like tentacles and a hundred eyes. There's no mention in the Bible of angels having wings or appearing attractive or angelic as we think of now.
