Scale Run Debugging

This lesson demonstrates my approach to simplifying an E minor scale run to address a problem spot that occurs when the descending portion begins.

Scale Run Debugging

Glad to hear this video was helpful! Ya know, some things in music just aren't designed to be played extremely fast on guitar. I may be able to speed pick single string stuff at 300 BPM + but there's NO WAY I could play 4 note coils, or run up and down full scales that fast. Just not possible! VERY glad to hear you have reached a new speed barrier! You're one more step closer to your goal :) Any time you've got something like this you'd like me to take a look at, just let me know!

Super lesson!. So many things just fell into place. First and foremost it's comforting to know that straight scale runs and the 4 note coil is a very hard to do fast not only for me but for most people including you John... apparently :o) What a relief! It's just a hard thing to get up to speed. Secondly I've already taken your advice and started working on simplifying things earlier this week. I've been going through the small bits and pieces exactly as you lay them out in the video always starting on a downstroke. And I got to give it to you. You were completely right. The main problem area was indeed the string shifts from high e to b, g to d and a to e. By splitting everything up into single bars I've managed to break through the ~130 barrier when descending. I'm also going take your advice on treating the 4 note coils as a separate thing. Again thank you for taking the time to do this lesson. It means a lot to me. I do hope it's of value to all my fellow patreon's as well.
