Speed/Tremolo Picking Etude in Em #1 for Metal Guitar

This etude, written in Em, is designed for pushing your picking speed and endurance for metal guitar playing.

First, we have quarter notes to show what notes are going to be used during the 16th notes portion, as well as helping you lock on to the beat/tempo. Then, we switch to 8th notes to further establish the tempo, help prepare the mind for going faster, and show the progression of notes going back down. Last, we go up and down the same notes shown with the quarter and 8th notes, but this time you play 16th notes.

The etude starts on the low E string, goes up to the A string, then up to the D string, back to the A string, and finishes back on the low E string.

Each time you start a quarter note section, you get some slight rest before having to push yourself again.

(please adjust the tempo to better suit your playing abilities and goals)

Learning how to destress better is something I feel I need. This is one reason I want to try Yoga. That, and to balance out all the weight training I do. Tai Chi is something I also think about getting into. That ice shower stuff is something I'm happy to pass on :)

Something different i found uplifting is intense training as CrossFit, somehow the other side of Yoga, it will boost your body and your mind as well. I have also found very interesting the Wim Hof method, deep breathing, cold shower, ice shower, meditation...you can find all you need abt it on the web, it worth a try. Have a good day. P.

Hi John, I have just seen your video about depression. As a therapist I can only agree that body and mind work togethe as a unit. I think Yoga is an amazing discipline, the only side effect I have experienced by practicing it is that it can unbalance you toward the paraympathetic , and this could be not what you are looking for, I mean it is just something to keep in mind, on the other side it as many therapeutic effect.
