Is there much actual historical background on the structure of sects as used in cultivation novels? In reading about outer, inner, and core disciples, and how badly they sometime behave even towards each other, I was suddenly struck by their resemblance to groups like the mafia, with "made" members vs "associates" and such. Was this a structure used by triads or other organizations in China?

2023-03-25 04:35:39 +0000 UTCHeh. Well, mostly retail (e-commerce and physical), marketing consulting and PR and logistics is the majority of my business ownership side. I'd say learning to manage people, organisational structure, marketing and business principles and project management have been the biggest skills for being a publisher. As for an author - writing. Sooo much writing - sales copy, brochures, press releases, speeches, etc.

But mostly in the breakdown / seperation of kingdoms rather than any actual historical aspect. There's plans in the future for an epic fantasy based off a period, but that is many years away.
