Pre-production Medic update!

Hi everyone!!! It's been a couple months and I figured I'd update you as pre-production comes to an end. I've said most of what I'll say here in the above video but it's like this: I've recorded over 1000 Medic clips and am still in a competitive Highlander season of Medic.  All the clips have been organized into subject matter with notes on them about possible SFM bits. I have a good sense of what the video will be like, but I'm a little hesitant to start before I finish the Medic season and officially have all the clips. In the meantime, I'm going to be smashing together another stream highlights video, but soon enough I'll be owning the Medic vid!

BEFORE MOVING ON: Feel free to drop ANY Medic takes/knowledge bombs here for me to consider!

On the personal front: I'm seeing the real-world benefits of my therapy more than ever. I'm finally learning to be more in-tune with how I feel in the moment and how to use that to stay focused on what matters. I'm excited to see if I can stay focused for the entire production of this video - as flattered as I am by the numbers and reception of this series, that would be the truest victory for me.

Thank you so much for your continued support and new support from recent patrons!! Your support on Patreon has exceeded my expectations time and time again... I'm seriously so grateful to be able to focus on what matters.

This feels a little redundant to add, but *ALWAYS* try and go for a surf off of a rocket. It's (nearly) free repositioning 50% of the time, and the farther you are from an enemy, the better. Also, don't be afraid to cut ties with your pocket. If they go in too deep for you to handle or if you get the sensation that something's about to go wrong, it's time to dip.

hey lazy, cant wait to see your new stuff on mental health because I relate to a lot of the topics that you've touched on in your past videos. I don't know if its just me but when I play kritz medic I feel like a drug dealer, the other team being the cops trying to find me and my team being junkies but their drug is kritz. This dawned on me when one day on a casual server I stumbled into a sketchy looking medic. He was completely out of position and his healing target had died, then when I see him all alone, over voice chat he said "Yo demo, you want these kritz?" and then we wiped the team.

I think literally all of these clips could make it top the final product

Hmmmm I don't know if you put that or if you think that is not worth enough to be in the video. How about mention to have a mentality of "If I don't like the work that is doing my team's medic, the I should do it my self" instead of just throwing garbage at the only guy that has the enough patience for playing medic (I am talking in the perspective of a casual match, I don't know if in competitive is the same thing). I hope that you read it! :D

medic from a noob's perspective: just... don't engage. stand around corner. be in the back. do NOT ENGAGE. that's how it feels.

Thank you!!! I only just recently learned you can hold down right click to engage uber as soon as you get it, I'll use this one too now!

Me too!! I definitely want to raise some awareness about mental health after I finish this series

LazyPurple

Lol the overdose definitely has a mega fun factor, I absolutely will try to talk about it in the extras!

LazyPurple

I want to believe this but I feel like the situation of "everyone is hurt" actually comes up so rarely! It feels like it should happen a lot but hurt people seem to just die before I get to them lol. I'll keep looking out for it though

LazyPurple

Hahahaha WHERE'S YOUR MEDIC?

LazyPurple

Absolutely spot on. Also, it's way too good pocketing a Heavy rather than a Scout or something, sooo much time to realize what type of damage the Heavy is taking!

LazyPurple

Me too!!

Wonderful to hear, thanks for sharing something so personal with us. As for knowledge bombs, did you know you can HOLD DOWN the left mouse button when using the medigun and it will keep looking for an ally, until you finally LATCH onto a heal target? Maybe it was that pesky setting (that by default forces you to have to keep looking at your heal target to maintain the beam) that tricked me, but that essential part of the medigun never dropped for me for YEARS! Hahaha... Medic was much more fun to play after learning that.

therapy was a good move. glad to hear you're doing better, especially after you explained the nightmarish production of your previous video. hang in there!

So glad to hear that you are doing better mentally! Therapy is such a savior, wish more people would go and get some and see how much it can help. Anyway, excited about the video! :) I already know it will turn out great.

lmao when that heavy ate his sandwich at the end

Glad to gear you’re doing so well! Here’s my little bomb drop lol. Ever since Robtheawsm’s vid in medic primaries, I’ve actually taken quite a liking to the overdose! It makes for a nice little speed boost whenever there’s no one in range to heal. And the damage downside is actually incredibly minuscule due to how damage rounding works. Still doesn’t hold a candle to the almighty crossbow I suppose, but it’s still something!

tip, as a person who mains medic, you gotta remember to keep your cool

Keep up the awesome work, Lazy! I'm not sure what knowledge bombs I can drop that hasn't already been said, but here's something about Quick-fix ubers: You shouldn't use the Quick-fix uber the same way as stock uber. Sure you can tank a lot of damage with it, but you're still venerable to coordinated damage. So instead of using the Quick-fix uber DURING a major push, it's better to use the uber to PREPARE for a push. Fully healing a bunch of injured teammates within the span of a few seconds is a great way to get your team ready to push through a nasty choke point. Hopefully this helps you out in some way.

Less a knowledge bomb and more an excuse to brag, but I remember you getting upset at how healthy a heavy was when I was hitting max range arrows. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dRS3E9o3XWM&t=7365s

Nice. If you want a hot take, the Vacc is the most fun medi gun, but the worst from a balnce perspective. If there's too many players, and you're the only Medic it's awful. If you're in 6's, it's way too good. If you're one of 2-3 medics in 12's using it alongside a stock uber, it jumps back into the way too good territory.

Excited about this!!
