Sakura Adventures Days One/Two! 🌸 Hiroshima & Fukuyama Castle

I'm currently in Hiroshima Prefecture for a week visiting Mark! Here's some snapshots from our first two days of sakura hunting.

We spent day one in Hiroshima City. We were lucky to catch the blossoms in full bloom at Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park! And we ran into a patron there! So awesome! Thanks for saying hi 💕💕

A nearby cafe was selling hot cherry blossom lemonade so I had to try it 👀🌸 It looked really pretty and tasted quite nice, very sweet.

For dinner we had the famous Hiroshima-style okonomiyaki and spent the evening wandering around town. I was amazed by how huge Hiroshima City is! For some reason I had the image that it was a lot smaller. Last time I was down here was for Journey Across Japan 3? 4? years ago, and we didn't explore too much at the time so I had no idea how big it was.

Day two we went to Fukuyama Castle, which is really close to Mark's place! Unfortunately the castle itself is undergoing renovations so it was covered in scaffolding, but a few of the other smaller buildings on the site were visible so I got a few pretty photos 🏯✨ The cherry blossoms are in full bloom all around the area it seems, we got really lucky with timing! 🌸
