Thxxxx there's such a *moment* there in the front seat, plays a strong note on both their characters. It's always nice when something translates perfectly from script to page. And grassyass, points put into speed-painting paying off.

Not sure why I started there but *big shrug* Anyway, Caboose continues to ruin everything -- the sheer juxtaposition of the scenario with his *bullshit*, I TELL YA it does at least go a long way to demonstrate that, yes, he *is* touched in the head and NO, it is not a hilarious, adorable personality trait, you FURRY FUCKS. Anyway, amazing helmet aside, panels five and six are my favorite. By a long, long goddamn shot. The expressions are so on point...fuckin' Wash takes the cake for saying the most without saying. Just the sheer weight of feeling like you're leading a losing battle, seeing the loss with your own eyes all while knowing every single person under your leadership is risking the same fate, and even more so than most. It's tough, and it's conveyed well. York's response is powerful -- he don't curse much, so that really emphasizes where he feels about it. And the broing (747) is visible here pretty hardcore, since he no doubt feels Wash's strain. He can sense that shit easily, and it affects him, too. I really like that detail a lot. (And fuckin' sweet final shot, yo, establishing and closing both beauts for this whole scene :chefkiss:)
