aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa love all those little bits you wrote for this character conflict, things not-safe and all, even starting back in E&A (lmao, still feels too-long-but-not-long-ago.) It's no lie that it's influenced the way this scene turned out. Aw man, as much as Wash probably hates all the small guy jabs he's taken his whole life, York has to be the one guy he can deflate around, drop the I'm-a-grown-ass-man-and-fuck-you mask and just be a smol pine cone. Big Pup makes Little Buddy feel safe. [volcano hup]

HNGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH HHHH (H) Oh man, it's comin'. Panel 2 is SO good, the way they's pressed up together, *aaaaa*. I'm dyin'. Also you say you write York meaner than me, but...maaaang, it's *barely* here :allears: For real, this York feels right on point. I do agree, it sucks the comic/our lives don't have the time 'n space for you to REALLY explore the full relationship between these two, but this page is a good-ass summation of what it is that makes these two who they are. Yeah, by this point, York's kind of a puppy but...earlier in their relationship, he *was* a little more crass, a little more harsh, so based on what *we* see in the comic, this feels just fine for 'im. (And if folks REALLY wanna learn 'bout the backstory, they got readin' available :hee:) The expressions in 2 and 3, aaaaa. I love them all. But man, 6 and 7 take the prize home together. 6 is great because they're *both* laughing, there's just this big breath *in* as we get a smidge of breathing room (that is very much appreciated). The way they both look happy for a few seconds is just...yeah. Really well-placed, the timing is fantastic. BUT SEVEN. I love how you've changed their posing, so they're...still side-by-side, but facing each other a bit more. Their bodies make this lovely li'l lopsided shape, their tails curled toward each other, just. Hnnnngh. Visual storytelling at its finest. BUT Wash's conversation makes it that much better. Yeaaaaah, I see that "what we're fighting for" and "not safe", god, them's just...makin' me clench all my fingers and toes. This li'l speech is something we know Wash is struggling to get out, and it's taking *all* his goddamn strength...oh, little cone, it's gonna be okay. ...okay I'm gonna go back to fawning over size difference now, thanks.
