Media Studies - To communicate or not to communicate

Hello everyone,

next up for my Media Studies series is this piece that shows us/people in a little different way - everyone says we need to communicate, we need to stay in contact and care about our social contacts/connections... and yet what do we see?

On streets, in trains, where ever it might be, if we look around there barely are people talking to each other in public. Instead, everyone is in his own little world like we're looking through a cube, we don't really look around and smile at others, we listen to music and stay focused on our technical equipment, our little gadgets, no matter if mobile phone, tablet, laptop or Iwatches.

In this drawing, I interprete this as if we're bound together in a huge network we don't see since even though we're not talking/communicating in public all that much anymore, we are communicating to others online and all over the world. So...are we communicating enough or aren't we...?

I leave the rest and the answer up to you. i just hope you like this piece as much as I actually do. :)

Interesting point, Taily^^ I really like hearing your opinion on these topics and I can relate to it. Thank you very much^^

yea this is another interesting topic, we personally connect most with others that understand us for who we are, the rest is either for business, family, or everyday life. Accessibility is one of the root causes to this imo, like how many of us wish we could go to another country or just another location inside your own country, but things like money, time and motivation get in the way (like going to bronycon or galacon). This is where we believe we'd be happier at that moment and we're most likely right. But alas traveling is still a hassle, even if just for a day or two. Alas i'd even have to dismiss traveling to see friends and family unless i have the money or company to pay it off, feels like such a sad world unless the hassle was removed but who knows when that'll be. Great work on this piece Lupi, love seeing your media studies ^^
