Vucevic and Drummond for CP3 & Kuminga

Chrisjordanfit

The Bulls won't be taking on any long term salary. If you want anything from Chicago it has to be with the Klay or CP expirings.

Stevie Ray

Yeah Wiggins can bounce as soon as December 15th if possible lol. Ship him out and get what you can. Allow Moody and Kuminga to fill his role. Deal with Klay in the off-season.

Kd127

Nikola Vucevic?

Kd127

Yeah I feel you. I think I’d feel different if we didn’t have this roster. Like since kerr is allergic to moody and kuminga minutes I’d rather see Steph jack up a contested shot then then dump it off to one of the maybe shooters or loongod.

Connor H

I see your point...Too me the stopping and going and dancing with the ball is from a muscle endurance stand point. its also what you are accustomed too, you are going to be more efficient in what you do a lot of

Athletic Alchemy

I hear you, some people are just lazy tho too

Athletic Alchemy

you are right it does seem louder than normal, thank you.

Athletic Alchemy

Is Steph iso really taking out that much more juice from his legs then him running the equivalent of a marathon running around off ball for screens while getting pulled and grabbed and prevented from seeing the ball? We’ve been asking for the ball to be in Steph’s hands for years

Connor H

The worst thing about this rotation is if we have to play Wiggins, Klay, CP, ect. a certain amount of minutes in order to build or sustain their value, why are we not treating Kuminga's lottery rookie contract the same? What do we owe to a vet minimum Saric? It makes no sense to me that Saric is higher up on the rotation than kuminga or moody. I'm not hating on Saric, but if you're trying to win games, don't you want to play your third year young guys that are flashing a higher ceiling than some of the starters are currently? I guess the crux of the whole problem is like you said, that how unadaptable Steve is with rotations is glaringly bad. Sure play Saric in games against old slow teams, just not these young and quick teams. Pretty easy concept you'd think!

Pelvis

For anyone else lol used windscribe and it's working

Sarick Shah

Yeah, Kerr’s postgame interview was bad. I think his biggest failing is that he keeps talking about this 2021 “5-man starting lineup” at a point in the season where he’s also talking about not having a set rotation. Which one is it? You can’t talk about embracing flexibility and then preach an old starting lineup.

yan't get right

Also, did Garuba drop off the face of the Earth? He was picked up specifically for his skillset of long, defensive prowess, etc. Maybe his offense isn't the greatest, but ya know, neither is Corey what-his-name.

Neal X

And who immediately turned another franchise into a contender? Hmmmm....

Neal X

The bet is, are we getting blown off the court by 20, 30, 40, or 50?

Neal X

As usual enjoy your take on the games! Could I suggest to mute the game announcers it was distracting and hard to hear you.

Anna Mitchell

Cheers to you for giving genuine takes on fingers. I am in your camp. At the same time, it's not like the injury took him away from the game right? He still had to show up and sit there. Why would he not want to play? It would be another thing if the injury excused him from going to the game, so he could spend time with his fam, play video games, jerk off, whatever the fuck he wants to do over hoops

Chris Williams

What Kerr has been doing this entire season has been coaching malpractice

Julian

I wonder how much of the players' contracts are having ownership force Kerr to play with the

theycallmemiyagi

I don't know what fans are asking what CP brings to the table, but he's been leading one of the best bench squads in the entire league.. which I thought was the entire point of bringing him in on top of his expiring contract. It's not his fault Kerr has officially gone more senile than Biden by putting him and 2 other guards in some lineups. I cannot stand Steve Kerr this season. Abhorrent coaching performance.

Julian

Thx

Sarick Shah

Try a VPN, it should work its just the gov restrictions

Stevie Ray

What's even stupider about this though is that this isn't even ABOUT vets vs. young guys necessarily, it's just about playing the personnel that make SENSE. Even back in the day before he became one of the "core", Looney was treated like JK and Moody are being treated now -- he sat all the time, especially when it was clear he wasn't being useful. Now he just plays regardless, no matter what??? This is just pure dysfunction and complacency.

Neal X

Of course ! They should be catering to JK rt now so he doesn't bolt in FA. You actually have to convince the young guys to stay during this sunset mission instead of going to Orlando or some other up and comer. Once you lose a guys trust, it's gone. The halo of the Ws can only go so far.

Jim

Yes to Ron Adams back on the defensive bench. Love that he has a long connection to a teenage Dario too. Looney, Klay seem slow, tired. Steph at times too. Wonder if it would help if the players have another player takeover in practices to up their games. Hate Dario's turnovers. Have to disagree on the fingertip - that is important to shooting - but on the energy, bounce and alertness on the court, soemthing is missing.

marie

What really got my goat is Kerr's post-game performance, where he was acting like he was SHOCKED by Kuminga doing well. I got the impression Kerr very well may not have had JK play AT ALL if the game had been going better, which to me is rock-solid proof that Kerr is just waaaay behind the curve when it comes to his roster and who needs to be playing right now.

Neal X

Him Kenny and the other grey hair/beard dude need to go. Zero urgency between the three of them

Gunners4life

Trade Wiggs for a big

Chrisjordanfit

Id want a trade if i was him. they're not only fuckin w his career, they're fuckin w his money for when he wants to sign a rookie extension

Mikey H

All good I'll figure it out loll

Sarick Shah

Validate the fictions Kerr creates in his head

Stevie Ray

Okay and last one could you try re-up? I'm so appreciative

Sarick Shah

I explained above why I can’t always have YouTube link. I apologize if it’s not working where you are at. Others have success using a vpn. But I understand if that’s not worth it to you.

Athletic Alchemy

Definitely not loading my brother also tried on his laptop

Sarick Shah

When the breakdowns go over 13 min they tend to get blocked on YouTube. If you go back you will see I provide YT links when I can.

Athletic Alchemy

Hmmm any way to try like YouTube? It's not loading for me: ( but if not all good

Sarick Shah

Possibly, the embed patron video doesn’t work either?

Athletic Alchemy

when he is flat footed he doesn't get the proper lift

Athletic Alchemy

I'm in India for a wedding could it be that?

Sarick Shah

I just checked it twice its up..https://streamable.com/ycugjv

Athletic Alchemy

S.O.S. SMALL...OLD...SLOW.

Gsw4L

Rumors are swirling that Kuminga wants a trade cause Kerr won't play him. I swear to fucking god if he gets traded and blossoms into an All Star right away because Kerr's egotistical ass was giving him tough love I'm gonna be so fucking pissed off.

Major Powers

Alch the streamable isn't working

Sarick Shah

We got Okc on friday coming off a bad L in houston. You already know chet and them boys are licking their chops trying to get back to winning ways. Gonna be a long night for us ya'll

Gunners4life

I've been pretty patient w the dubs so far this year but after last night, this aint lookin good. These guys have a ton of cap space locked up in a bunch of underperformers. If i was the GM i'd make it known to them & kerr that everyone besides chef, mood, jk, podz are moveable. I wouldn't get rid of drey but wouldn't let him know that. Not sure if u can get anything of value for them at this point but this season is going nowhere fast. I guess if anything, just to clear off some cap space, maybe can entice a star or two to join up in the offseason

Mikey H

said it for years. Man Kerr has something in his butt regarding younger players. He goes above and beyond to destroy their confidence and want to play the game. I don't get it. I don't understand what it is. I honestly feel that's one of the reasons James Wiseman did not become who we we think he could be. He is mismanaging the team out of ego. His ego is too large and all he wants to do is stick to the system. He has made no adjustments over the years to allow for the system to grow into new things. He doesn't want any bigs. That's a big issue. It's wearing down our old players who are still good. This is all about Ego right now and not winning.

Keith Reynolds Jr.

probably the best worded way of putting it. Honestly with how bad this season has turned out, I think its time for some big changes. Got nothing to lose this year atleast

Matt Hanna

Steve Kerr has genuinely turned into Keith Smart, with the way he treats younger players floor time. It's funny, because Steph always had that beef with Smart because he'd bench him over scrub vets for no good reason. Kerr has become that exact person. Treating the younger players in way that eventually will create animosity, if it hasn't already happened. Kerr has got to go.

OhSomeABeanLoadin

Can’t say I agree on liking the mistakes from aggression. Great game from Kuminga. It just reminds me of when we were comparing Oubre and Wiggins. Oubre gambled all the time and was that aggressive defender. And it burned us more often than not. It’s unpredictable and breaks down the team defense. Wiggins is definitely in a slump. But the steady defender he was in ‘21 is what we want. Used his length appropriately and made every shot tougher. It wasn’t flashy, but it was effective. Still have faith he can come back into form.

Tyler Nevans

@Matt Hanna, I hear what you’re saying re Kuminga, but it’s not like there’s a mistake-free option. You can’t bench 2023 Kuminga because he’s not as good as 2018 Klay.

Ejikeme Uzoigwe

Drays shot has a lower release point that made flatter last night

sam baines

Halftime of the game was at about 11:15 pm where i am. I never turnoff the game.... Ever.... But i was so tempted to do so with the lax effort by Steph, but Moody's play kept me tuned in. So at nearly the end of the game when Steph began exhorting the crowd like c'mon cheer for us i felt some genuine disappointment in Steph. Yea Steph when you're so lax for half the game the crowd is too.

Steven Stanley

This game was SO boring, even when it was close at the end. The core is so fucking boring to watch, they look so uninterested like they're just going through the motions. It's also embarrassing that it took a final possession three from Steph to beat the mother effing Blazers. I hope this trade deadline is busy, and I hope these "core" players aren't untouchable.

OhSomeABeanLoadin

I’m not sure if a win or a loss would’ve been more productive. That was a trash game by the veterans..esp Wiggins and Klay-again. I love what Steve Kerr has done for this and I will always be thankful for him and the great timing of joining the team on the way up. On the way down is a different story. that’s why I don’t believe in devout dedication to “the guys that won us four championships.” There’s always an end and a beginning. You have to be dynamic with the current times-not what things were like in the past.

Paul Hanson

What does Kenny Atkinson do for this team?

Chrisjordanfit

Apologies for the essay: Being 100% honest right now, I just have NO joy/pleasure in watching the core players of this team right now. Nothing about watching them is enjoyable. Aside from maybe a signature Steph Curry Flurry, its hard for me to actually enjoy watching them. The careless, stupid, completely avoidable turnovers, the bad defense, the awful shot selection, the selfish decision making, the lackluster shooting, and the flatout OLD MAN vibes are completely souring me on Warriors games right now, when it comes to Steph, Klay, Dray, Wiggs, and Loon. They just all look completely outclassed by today's longer, faster, better athletes. Theyre always a step behind. A beat too slow. And its just painful and sad to watch. All of this is completely contrasted by the genuine interest, excitement, and hope I feel when watching Podz, Moody, and Kuminga. They all obviously still have their flaws and Im not saying they all should become starters all of a sudden. But just in terms of them stepping on the floor right now, they are the sole reason this team is playing any decent basketball. Btw, what the hell happened to TJD? Does he suck now or what? We were playing a team of long, bouncy athletes yesterday and after Looney clearly couldnt be on the floor anymore, how is that TJD gets no minutes? Anyway. This game was just all more of the same. What the fuck is Kerr doing? Anyone with half a brain related to basketball KNOWS that Portland has a bunch of long, bouncy athletes. How do you match up against long, bouncy athletes? You play your own long, bouncy athletes. Now Wiggs just dgaf about ball right now. Whatever. But that means more Kuminga and maybe even TJD. But nope. Kerr wants to prioritize Loon and Andrew Wallow *cough* sorry Wiggins. Thank goodness for Kuminga keeping a decent attitude and coming in to literally save the whole team's ass. But at this point I just feel bad for him and Moody. You have a coach that is stifling all your talent because he wants to bend over backwards for his rapidly aging stars. Theres a reason Popovich is the GOAT. Even after the Duncan era was over, he still was masterful at coaching younger athletes and adapting when it called for it. But we are seeing in REAL TIME, Kerr all but literally having to have his fucking brain caved in before he even realizes what a good decision is. Im so tired of this right now. Im over this "loyalty to the core". Steph and Draymond are the only ones that matter right now, because theyre the only ones who still have the ability/drive to play hard. But Klay Loon Wiggs and Kerr. Ive just about had it with them. No shade to Loon though. It isnt his fault. I just dont think he can keep up anymore. Yay for barely winning against another tanking team I guess. Maybe Steph can match PatBev and be a Play-In FMVP?

Jansen E

I think this thing can only be fixed if Klay/wiggins themselves hold a team meeting and say they're for the team lol cos Kerr doesn't have the courage to do it nor does the rest of his coaching staff

Ash

It's coaching malpractice that 30 minutes of game time elapsed before Kuminga entered the game.

Goku44

I think Kerr post game comments were related to looney because thinking about it there is really no reason for looney to start unless we are playing one of the foreign bigs.

JSII

We lose this game without the somewhat favorable whistle we got

Abhi Kelkar

In the post game interview... Kerr str8 up admitted that he gives more rope to the vets because they earned it. He said it pretty confidently too... That was beyond alarming. As frustrated as Steph seemed to be.. That could all end by him having a real sitdown with Kerr .. Dray Klay and Loon. Kerr has made it abundantly clear where his priorities lay... time for Steph to make his clear as well Great breakdown Alch

Ballin Forever

I wonder who walked out the door in 2022??? Hmmmm….

Andre Brooks

Too many holes to “save” this season. We want to compete in the west and we’re old small and slow. Need both a 2nd option and bigs. And not to mention a new defensive assistant coach, better development staff, and a more dynamic scouting team. The entire org needs to be reevaluated

Andre Brooks

Let Klay go before Wiggins. At least Andrew CAN have a good game. Klay is entitled flaming garbage

Andre Brooks

Kerr gotta go man it’s that simple

Enzo Cree

Kerr and his coaches are about as adaptable as Blockbuster Video. :D The criticism of Kerr isn't nitpicking some 50/50 judgment calls, or using 20/20 hindsight. There's an appalling lack of game planning. The rotations are horrible, and these are planned rotations where Kerr and co know who the opponent is, which Opp. players are missing, and which of his players are coming off injury/playing hurt. Playing the blah blah old lineup/rotations for THIS GAME was fucking stupid. This was the perfect game to rest his main guys, to reward his young players, and play small against an opponent who was also small. Maybe go 11 deep. Maybe blow them out early so Steph can take a quarter off. This was the ideal Kuminga game, which Kerr admitted in the post-game but, LOL, he didn't even play Kuminga until the 4th. I feel like Kerr was once a great coach who worked hard, was insightful, and got the best out of his players. I haven't felt that way since 2022. I have lost all faith in him.

Thomas Ogas

There is no reason why Moody and Kuminga are not starting over Klay and Wiggins, outside of their egos. We need significant line-up changes, and/or trades to save this season.

Captain Rossco

With the pressure and physicality he can put on the rim creating fouls and the juice he provides defensively - there is no reason he isn't starting over Klay and Wiggs - and the same can be said with Moses. If they have a poor outing and the vets are outplaying them down the stretch, Kerr can remain dynamic with his crunch time minutes. But the question IF these guys need 20+ minutes...they undoubtedly should be carrying more of the minutes load, especially in the first half of basketball.

Stevie Ray

Wiggins is too soft and nonchalant about hooping, he's become a disadvantage more often than not compared to other #2 options in the league. If there's one player I don't mind the Warriors trading, it's Andrew Wiggins unfortunately. I feel like they just need a more reliable #2 to get over that hump.

Diosdado

Alc standin on bidness 😆

Enzo Cree

Moody's year 3 leap is real! The defense has come a long way and he just sticks to what he does best on offense

Matt Hanna

Agree look at moody now he is more likely to take the mins from klay

weng

It feels like he plays better with more minutes? Like he needs that time to find his spots. But it might be enough to get a consistent rotation.

Lee Schumacher

I honestly think Curry is gonna be spent by the end of this season. If he declines rapidly after this season, we can point and circle this season as the catalyst. I understand the defensive concerns for sure. But when you are putting up godly numbers on insane proficiency and barely winning or losing more than half your games… it’s actually alarming. KD has had similar heroics this season but his team is along for the ride. Idk, just a thought

Tyler Gerch

Did you know for the first 10-12 games 60% of kuminga shot were spot up 3s. All the things Kuminga did well in the past seasons are gone.No transition scoring ,No pnr with him as the roller or handler. No actions to get him downhill. All things we have seen before. All cp3 wants to do is run pnr with the player he is comfortable with-dario. That works really well for Moody but come on now.Turning a slasher who can hit the 3 into solely a spot up shooter is nasty behavior. But like i said Kerr dont want to coach the vets.

mr.bean

At least Kerr has less min with the vet, I think at this point he has to play more the young guys if the vet are not producing

weng

Dario was supposed to be a nice toolsy weapon off the bench not the only playable closing big on the roster. With Kevon's glaring limitations, the 2 expiring contracts need to be shipped out with picks to supplement the frontcourt with a true 2nd option in crunch time.

Stevie Ray

Enough is enough, yea A Boston mid season headcoach/trade combo is order. The end of the Kerr era can't wait till the offseason.

Stevie Ray

Yea i guess i meant closer to 25 mins or higher. His 3pt % has dropped to 25% on the same number of shot attempts as last year. I see him clog up the offense sometimes and just get lost with what he can do when he isnt overpowering the others teams defenders.

Matt Hanna

on avg.. but its hella sporadic in real time

Athletic Alchemy

I understand entirely that Kuminga makes mistakes and has blips of effort on the glass but he’s shouldn’t be in the doghouse. If we aren’t gonna play him damn near 30 min/night trade him please so that he can get the minutes that he needs and we get the necessary pieces in return to win a ring.

Aben

Kuminga has played around 20 minutes a game player for the Warriors. Since his rookie year.

mr.bean

There are some nights where its like oh.. we need shooting/spacing and he has a couple quick fouls.. but at least give him the opportunity, dont just ice him out the gate.. absurd

Athletic Alchemy

Tough to watch this kind of game. This is not a trap game, this is the warriors doing their "best" to beat a subpar young team. To me, its not the win , the Warriors are just not fun to watch. No way this team is going anywhere this season if they play anything like this.

Tyler Durden

You the man. Thanks 👍🏻

Calum Stapleton

it feels like Kerr is scared to really coach these vets.I know you won with them but damn.Everyone sees it.

mr.bean

https://streamable.com/ycugjv

Athletic Alchemy

Do you think Kuminga is "good enough" to play 20ish minutes every game? Regardless of matchup? I feel like the games he is a minus is the really high IQ games but im wondering if his athleticism is always worth the squeeze

Matt Hanna

Any chance of external link? Thanks

Calum Stapleton

well shit.. it aint too early now!

Athletic Alchemy

Is my take from earlier in the season about Moses and Kuminga starting still too early or just a transparent fact only Kerr can't see?

Stevie Ray
