Warriors probably play badly when they play slow because they are also small... part of the point of giving up size is for speed but if give up both of course we would struggle

Refs gave Giannis 32 free throws but with Steph they don't see shit.
_____
I believe in this team.
Starting lineup: Curry. Podz. Moody. Kuminga. TJD.
Klay and Wiggins have to change their mindset and not look at it as demotion. Maybe being in a different lineup will help them. For Klay it could be the pathway to Game 6 Klay.
The coach they hired to train Wiseman is a top specialist, right? So how come the Warriors suck at defense?
They could've won so many games if they had made the free throws. It's as simple as that.
I respect the Warriors' OGs. Draymond is one of my heroes. I'm always in favor of having pitbulls in the team. Zaza was great for us. Draymond has to choose his battles wisely - be slicker and smarter about it.

Should be pretty easy to find the vid on the channel he gets into the analysis right away. Obviously in a team sport one players' impact can be a domino effect on others so the stats may "lie" but in this case I think we've been fooled by his 3-ball shooting into thinking his game is still good in other areas, when it's definitely not. Like all the other vets, he's older, slower, and he's turning it over.

I like your take on this as a turning point for Steve. There is a lot of talk about moving off of Draymond, Wiggs, and Klay, and I am genuinely curious if you think there is a market for them outside of Golden State...?
For Klay it seems like the only place for him is a team that is tanking anyway and can afford to allow him to shoot his way out of a max contract, but who would we possibly get back in return for a move like that? JP again???
And with Draymond, is anyone going to want to deal with his antics, no matter how much of a plus defender he can be? A part of why I am not on the trade bandwagon is because they very much feel like our crosses to carry.

yes, good call! the Gordian Knot is a more fitting analogy. Kerr's not making a mess, he's ending one. I think Alch's intentions were more "opened the flood gates" to more playing time for the 2nd stringers.

Oops ... I forget about Drej. I put him in the same group as Wiggs: the phsyical ability is still there, mentally, I'm not so sure. If we can get to a point where his suspensions and ejections no longer deflate and derail the team, imo he's worth keeping because he's still a great player, much more effective (at least recently) than Klay or Wiggs. But if the team can't distance itself from him and truly embrace the "next man up" philosophy, he will just continue to muck up our flow with his ever more frequent phsycho-ward detonations. Maybe we can call in Phil Jackson to perform some Zen-voodoo. Go Warriors!

I'm still of the idea that Wiggs is an important asset that we would be wise to keep in pocket. Perhaps that 2022 playoff run with his elite defense, timely jumpers, and highlight dunks has permanently clouded my vision but I will say without the slightest hesitation that there's no way we win the title that year without him. So yes, going back to last year, something has definitely changed. It seems like some life-altering event went down in his personal life, of the type that leads you to existential questions of the weight and breadth that permeates everything you do (including hooping). Of course we'll never know for sure but one thing's certain: the physical ability is still there, it's simply a matter of what's under the dome. Klay, on the other hand, is a lost cause. He no longer has the physical attributes to compete at a high level consistently and he's fooled himself into thinking that he's still so far above the rest of the league that he can play brain-fart basketball and still come out smelling like a rose. No dice, Klay. But even if he gets his head out of his derrier, I still don't see him moving anywhere far beyond a slightly above average player. Sure, stick him in the corner to hit spot-up threes but are you going to pay big money for somebody with a ceiling like that? One dimensional guys like that are a dime-a-dozen in this league. As for Loon, yes, he's looked wretched of late but I still feel that in certain match-ups he also can be an important asset. And that brings us to coach Kerr. I watched his interview closely (and suggest you all do too). I saw sadness in his eyes ... the type of sadness that a dog-owner feels when he realizes that there's no choice other than to put his dog down. "I've been very patient" = this suffering must end, for the dignity and well being of everyone. And for those of you talking trades, anyone who thinks that we're gonna get back anything but a cheerleader for any kind of combination of Klay, Loon, Wiggs is living in a fantasy world. Unless KJ and/or Moody is included in a deal (which I staunchly oppose), those guys won't get you squat. As for this season, there's a level of parity in the league right now that any number of teams could win the title and, imo, the warriors are still right there, talent-wise at least. Again I remind everyone how close the games have been in this depressing string of losses. Even when we're looking lost, we're usually still just a turn-over away from a victory. Keep the faith people. It's always darkest before the dawn! Go Warriors, go Alch!

I think it was data. there is a ton of data to suggest that starting lineup is a really good lineup, and even more data that suggests Wiggins and Klay are still good players. That being the case, 15-20 games is about what you would expect for a trial in the NBA, and we've hit that point. All of this is pretty much what one would expect given how this roster was built (with Steph, Klay, Wig, Dray, Loon as starters); they figured they'd only have to upgrade the bench...and they did a good job of that. Our bench might be one of the best in the league. People complain but Kerr has actually been playing a lot of different guys recently, if you look at the rotations and minutes....people just fixate on "the starters".

Klay and Wings can try to earn more minutes by playing well off the bench. It think it's a great idea to go mostly youth for the middle 40 games of the season. If we make the playoffs and Steve decides the veteran experience will be more valuable (maybe the vets start to actually give a shit), then they will be more rested for the post-season.

If only Klay and Wiggins could get back to form… So Kerr kept praying that Klay and Wiggs get it together and (given how good the bench is) he would be in pole position to get a fifth ring.
Either that or give up on the dream and fight for what? A Cinderella story with Podz, JK and Moody?
To me, he was more like a blackjack player who was up big earlier in the night and is unwilling to accept that he’s not winning it back.

I suspect that it wasn’t fear, loyalty or “patience” that made Kerr stick with the vets for so long. When the bench was playing so well, my guess is that his eyes got big and he began to really think this team could be special. If only Klay & Wiggins come thru…

Wiggs is minus at the moment on the market because it's long term contract. They need to package Klay with the 2 picks plus swaps and get the best front court player available. Klay and CP both have value with their expirings, especially since many teams will be wanting trim fat off the books with the new CBA restrictions that kick in next season.
If someone is willing to take Wiggs that would be great, but I have no idea why anyone else would at this moment (even if a pick was attached).

I really don't see why you would suspend Draymond for more than a game or two, in theory. It's not a fight, it was within the flow of the game, it's while he's getting fouled and it was a known non-scuffle. I also think Nurkic' lack of remorse and drama about the play kinda signal it was really just over-physical insanity from Draymond. Nurkic tried his best to sell it but it felt like he knew that a flail upside the head was a possibility from the way they were jockeying all game.
I mean, I understand if the point is to send a message, as it definitely will bump it up a few games. Social media is out for blood with Dray, as per usual. But this doesn't feel close to the deliberate shenanigans of choking someone out mid-fight.
Also, very weird game to watch. Half the time feeling like the warriors are SOARING AGAIN due to a bunch of young, energetic nobodies and Chris Paul of all people. And the other half wanting to turn the TV off at the collection of players who have brought me so much joy over the years. Very weird.

Yeaa, Klay's gonna have a few good games and convince a portion of the Dubs population he can still bring it in the playoffs. But regardless, we have the sample size that shows, he has to be the contract used at the deadline for an upgrade in the frontcourt. There is so much addition by subtraction if they trade Thompson and allow his minutes to be soaked up by Mood, Kuminga, and Podz.

I don't really know about trades, because I don't know enough about basketball for that. But is sad watching Steph waste the last years of greatness being overshadowed by the downfall of Kerr, Dray, Klay and so on. And its not that we need to win more titles with Steph, but it seems like we still could with the right players and effort around him.
But I think Draymond is gonna get suspended for 10-15 games.
There is just too much stuff piling up at the moment. He has the reputation, has just been suspended for a violent act, didn't really show remorse afterwards and now has committed an arguably as violent act again.
I think he kinda forces Silvers' hand here.
Edit: Btw, recently there have been so many games where I thought I'm kinda sorry, that you have to watch them twice, Alch. ^^

I think the most egregious coaching error, was that early in the 3rd quarter Booker picked up his 4th foul. Many possessions immediately after that, kuminga had him fairly spaced out on the wing or the block. Yet we never once looked for kuminga to isolate on him 1 on 1. That's absolutely the time to give kuminga a possession or two to try to draw a cheap one on him. The game could've looked alot different had they gotten Booker to take a seat for a while.

I don't usually care for moral victories, but maybe this one was. It was so refreshing to see Kerr close with the guys who were actually playing hard. Reward effort and results will follow.
Draymond, with his epic stupid ass-baggery, just opened up the possibility of a David Lee-style replacement move. It'll be a lot easier for Steve to keep Kuminga as a starter after Dray misses the next 20 (?) games. If they win with JK, it will be "sorry not sorry. "

I know Klay wont be traded... but Wiggins CP3 and one of them youngins need to be packaged up before the deadline for Siakam.. Jerami.. Markennen. We desperately need another high end shot maker. That is what won us that 2022 chip... Poole and Wiggins both were giving us 20.. alongside Steph and whatever Klay was able to give us.
Now we dont have a clear #2 option.. some nights its Saric... some nights Kuminga... some nights BPOD or Mood.. some nights Klay... We need another guy.. preferably an iso guy who can go get 20-25 EVERY night. Every top team has a clear #2 guy. We dont have one.. and until we go get one... we might as well pack this season up and just start rebuilding

"Im So Fucking Done." - an overreaction novel, by Me.
Klay Thompson. The living legend. Mr. 37 in a quarter. The greatest 3&D player of all time. We love you. You'll always have a place in our hearts. But geezus fucking christ, it is time. Yes you deserved to get benched like 15 games ago. SVG actually said something accurate in that the one shot you made was because you were set and balanced. And all of your misses were leaning, one legged, fading, or totally off balance. EVERYONE knows that YOU need to adapt your game if you want to stay effective in this league. Gilbert Arenas said it right. You have not changed your game a single bit. Change your game or sit the fuck down. Im so fucking done.
Draymond. Fuck you. Go fuck yourself. You robbed the entire team and fanbase of a championship in 2016. Then you did it again when you chased KD out the door. Kicking people in the nuts. Stomping on peoples chests. Choking dudes out. FALCON PUNCHING YOUR OWN TEAMMATES. And mere days after returning from a suspension, you bitch slap another dude for NO REASON when the team was actually playing well. In my previous essay, I said that you and Steph were the only two dudes worth keeping from this core because of youre "competitive fire". Well shame on ME for confusing competitive fire with unhinged PSYCHOTIC RAGE. You need to see a fucking therapist. If you wanna go join the UFC, go fucking do it. I honestly dont give a shit what you produce on the court anymore. None of it is worth putting up with your bullshit. Im so fucking done.
Wiggins. Lol. Andrew Wallow. Mr. Finger Bang. Air Canada? Maple Jordan? All the god given physical tools and all the talent in the world. My dude. If you DONT LIKE PLAYING BASKETBALL, no one is forcing you to play. You could retire right now and have enough money to never worry for the rest of your life. Millions of people wish they could have what you have to be in the position you're in. And you just.....dont give a shit. Oh you got an ouchie on your finger?? Yeah. Better take a week off. Undisclosed reasons? Yeah. Lemme just step away for a few months while still raking in that cheese! You dont give a shit about playing, so why should any of us give a shit about you or "wHaT yOuRE gOiNg ThRouGH". Im so fucking done with you.
Loon. No shade Loon. Well, maybe a tiny bit. Just like Klay and Dray, YOU need to recognize that you arent who you used to be either. You cant guard prime harden on that perimeter anymore man. But its not your fault. Youre a legend and always will be for us. I think it might be time to step it wayyyyy back. Your body is the one saying "Im so fucking done".
Steph Curry. I listened to your podcast Alch. You brought up a great point. If this man is content and no longer cares about pursuing a championship, all I have to say is thank you. Yeah the turnovers and all the lackadasical shit. The only reason any of this is relevant is because of Steph Curry. A top 10 all time player. Maybe even a top 5 when you factor in his size and how he changed the game. But its a shame seeing a player this good be wasted on a team like this. Maybe he doesnt care and just wants to ride one last time with his bros. I wont fault him for that. But this year better be the last year then. All of you guys can retire together and just let the fanbase move on and permanently etch yourselves into the history books. But its honestly just painful watching all of you torpedo this season and leave all of us with the sourest of tastes in our mouth for the end of all your guys' careers. I fear he just wants to get this season over with. Im scared he might be thinking "Im so fucking done".
Kerr. You dont get a single round of applause from me for FINALLY making the right decision. Why does it take 25 games for you to do that? You get one half clap, sarcastically. But as far as Im concerned. You can fuck off with Draymond and Klay at the end of this season. Let the young guys cook. And we need a new coach to let that happen. Im so fucking done with your "relevations" when any idiot fan can make your adjustments.
And to all the young guys. Im excited to see what you guys have in store when you take over this team. We are spoiled as a fanbase. We may not see another championship for 20 years. And Ill definitely be mad and emotional over those next 20 years. But whatever. It is a new chapter. And Im ready to read it. Because I am SO FUCKING DONE with this current chapter.

Do you think there is enough time in the season to turn it around? I know its only 20ish games in but with draymond out (we know he would be in any pressure situations down the stretch) is there enough time or bodies to put together a new rotation that is competitive? I dunno man, last night felt like the nail in the coffin for me with the big 3. Get wiggs all the way out of there and let Dunleavy work some magic in the trade market

It would be madness for the FO to trade any of our young guys to “fix” the team.

Can’t give Dray any excuses but like you said Nurk was just frustrating him. On like the previous 2 or 3 plays he just kept grabbing him and holding him down. I understand dray trying to sell a call…but damn did he over do it.

Draymond has totally sabotaged this season and any good vibes/energy they had. It's pretty much all on him....Wiggins/Klay as well.

My theory about the Warriors is that you cant start both Wiggins and Klay, because they both need to be given shots early to get going, its not a coincidence Wiggins was an allstar the year where Klay missed the first half of the season.

Definately agree with you. This was one of if the few games this season whereby you came out with a moral victory. Kerr finally sitting the starters who are playing like trash and trusting the second unit to close the game feels like he finally got over that hump and Klay also acknowledging and agreeing with him the decision. Draymond being out gonna force his hand for the betterment of the team also. As for Draymond, he is who he is but I expect the league to hand down 10 games or more on him. I don’t disagree with it either, can’t continue to defend this type of behavior that costs the team.

This is the game that has ultimately caused me to check out. I honestly dont care what happens until the trade deadline. Ive seen enough at this point. Its clear that Klay at this point is just an off the bench spark plug caliber player. Its clear that Wiggins dont give a shit about seriously competing. Draymond is completely unhinged.
At this point.. i want to see Kuminga Moody and Bpod TJD play 25+ mins a game and watch their development. Unless we make a serious trade that puts us back into contention... I dont care what happens from now on. Im clocked out
Im not a big fan of being a middle of the pack team. Its either we are contending or rebuilding. Our team looks like the West version of the Bulls. I

Man when dray did that shit, I was so tight. Like why man ? Your team needs you. You see how the season is going, you’re playing well, but you’re always doing something dumb man

Best ability is availability. Dray is continuously letting the team down by getting himself suspended for games. We're all sick of it. Dray, Klay, and Wiggins need to go. Probably even Looney too and just say f**k it. Get Steph a fresh set of young teammates who can contribute and be a second option. The rookies are playing great, they should stay.

Tbh, i think Kuminga is ready. Wiggins has to go man, he's the SF version of AD/Kat.
If he had any passion or care for what was happening he would be pissed about being on the bench during a critical sequence of the game. Bro was literally giggling on the bench in the 4th qtr of another game where we blew the lead because starters sucked.
I know Klay is struggling but at least that m'fer cares. Fucking wiggins man.. unbelieveable

I'm just starting the video and I'm sure it will be on point. I'm kind of just ready for change-whatever that is-for the Warriors. The bad vibes are all over this starting unit. Draymond-what do you do? I don't expect change with his behavior-Warriors are kind of stuck with him unless Steph demands something different and is ready to sacrifice Dray for some reason we fans all want that would probably never happen. I'm tired of this team already-until the bench starts playing. I can get behind the youth movement as it's really pretty obvious the starters don't have it outside of Steph. Looney looks tired, old, slow, overweight. The last thing I really noticed is how TJD threw up his hands in disgust when Draymond made his move on Jurkic.

Mixed emotions. On one end, I’m happy Kerr had to swallow pride and prolly talks from within to switch things up with the youngins and also sad it took him this long to realize this

LOL. I don't have much to say about this debacle (and I'm sure those who follow the chat will be happy about that, lol). But I will say it looked like they were turning things around before Draymond sabotaged the team yet again...maybe I'm just being naive, ah well.
