I even think that it might be beneficial for Klay to spend some time on a different team as Steph, to help him figure out his own identity rather than constantly being in the shadow of "big bro". Go to some team that will let him chuck as much as he wants until it really sinks in that he can't do that anymore. Then maybe like Iggy he could come back on a Vet Minimum or something if he feels like it, so he can retire as a Warrior.

Not going to happen, but what do we think about Klay, moody, and a pick for Tobias and batum/morris? I just saw sixers were the “favorites” to land Klay and Tobias seems like the only guy that would make the money work

“Defense leading to offense”. It has a nice ring.
I join the outrage at TJD’s ultra-limited minutes.
Fascinating that one effective rim runner like JK can set the tone for the whole team. I see what you mean. His attacks are infectious, maybe not great against Denver but for many teams it’s hella better than hiking up endless 3’s.
I’m seeing these games through one lens: When Klay restrains himself they win; when he plays Kobe they are sunk.
I hate to say it but Santos looks like too much of a klutz to have an NBA career. I’ll root for him but I predict he will soon fade into the G League woodwork.

It would be difficult for them to get under the tax to access that type of space, maybe with the tax payer mid level they could get a 6 millions dollar player but it seems most playoff caliber 7 or 8th men are now going for 9 and above. If they allowed all the youth to develop and hopefully have a playoff win this year and make it to the 2nd round, then their development for next year would be way further along. So we have, 1. Curry 2. Kuminga 3. Draymond 4. Podz 5. Moody 6. TJD 7. Lester, 8. Gui
For a playoff rotation that doesn't leave that much room for additions, so we don't need volume of players, we have that, we need a serious front court addition - and that will cost both 2026 & 2028 picks - I would prefer they maximize the value of both expirings, get any value for GP2, Dario, and Wiggs and get back a two way front court player whether it's a forward or center - if that's not possible at the deadline, situate yourself to make it more possible this off-season and play TJD more.

Seems they should move off all the vets outside of Curry & Dray
There's so much addition by subtraction by moving out Klay, CP, Loon, and Wiggs - and it's not just this year, it's to create growth and opportunity to have them ready for next year and re-establish themselves as a contender around Curry - not sure though what those right deals though are...

Gui plays kinda drunk, he fell over about 4 times but seems like a guy that knows how to fall bc he does it so much 😂
Lester being a pest on D is such a revelation, basically doing what we wanted Poole to do. A smaller quick guard that used his quickness and effort to bother other guards’ rhythms.
I’m also with you on Kuminga-Bridges and how JK might be better rn. I don’t wanna end up like the Clippers with a SGA-PG13 trade situation. Looks like that Kawhi comp is still on the table with the way that middy is looking 🔥 I’ve always thought he could be an extremely athletic Jimmy Butler.

Yea i agree. I sometimes cringe when Klay chucks two back to back crazy shots... and then he sits and watch Steph make the same shots that he just clanked. I know that must make him feel a way. Because there was absolutely a point in time where it was a legit question as to who was the better shooter.
Klay has to take peace in the fact that he was the one who took alot of defensive assignments that they hid Steph from. Klay was the guy who never missed games and was tasked with being the point of attack guy every night. That also means he would be the one to age faster

Lester Q is a lot better defensively than I ever thought he'd be, which is a nice sign.
Why does Kerr hate TJD man??? With someone as bouncy as Claxton, how does TJD not get a single minute?
I mean Looney actually had a decent game, but I just dont understand why TJD doesnt get any playing time.
This win was nice. It was actually nice just as a basketball fan cuz it was 145-138. A low scoring game was nice for a change.
The lack of Klay at the end was VERY obvious.
So many people are feeling bad for him. Im done feeling bad for him. He will probably be a HOFer. He will most definitely be an all time Warrior. But the dude has made his millions and is now just playing selfishly, and everyone is buying into the "woe is me" mentality he's putting out.
Take a reduced role or get off the team.

Yeah I hate watching super likable guys drafted and/or developed by the Warriors in the G League play effective minutes in meaningful games too.
TJD probably wasn’t in there because Kerr didn’t want to clog up the paint for Kuminga, and the few minutes he might’ve gotten went to Looney, who was solid tonight.

Klay has been mentioned in the same breath as Steph for a lot of his career. He's one of the "Splash Brothers". He clearly has not liked the fact that the distance between him and Steph has been widening with time, which I think is fueling his desire to keep taking those shots. I'm not going to sit here and claim that it would be easy for anyone's ego to take what Klay is going through, but at a certain point, reality HAS to set in, and a grown man has to recognize it. That point has already come and gone, and there are no more excuses for him now. He either gets with the program, or he finds another program.

2024-02-06 22:24:20 +0000 UTC
Do you think the guys on the floor can help JK out a lil bit more on the offensive end by calling out the approaching double team? It feels like a pretty simple ask considering the entire team is just watching him from the perimeter because we don't want to crowd the paint when JK attacks. I also love the 2-man game developing between Steph and JK where Steph pretends to set a pick on JK's defender and JK immediately recognizes and attacks the opposing defense flat footed. The confusion and miscommunication it creates for opposing defenses is fun to watch. It's guaranteed to cause a mismatch every single time.

I know it’s “just Brooklyn” on paper, but this is the EXACT kind of game that the warriors would’ve lost a month or two ago. No older stars or rivalries on the other side for the vets to “get up” for, a roster of quick players with no notable injuries and coming after a deflating OT loss. Something is definitely different with this team.

I still remember that vid you posted last summer of Kuminga and you called that he was about to take "the step" and damn aren't you being vindicated right about now. I agreed then and I don't think anyone disagrees now. What I love about him is that it's clear he is a dog of dogs, just competitive as HELL, and petty in the best way. Not petty in the worst way, like someone else we could name... I also have to admit that I was wrong about Draymond at least my fear that he would kill team chemistry. It's clear that, at least when he's being "good Dray" as opposed to "antics Dray", the young guys look up to him and he boosts team morale, and like you said, he's the real leader of the team. I never disagreed with that, I just never believe he would get out of his own way. But, enter Podz. Not only did he show that he could be the guy to rein Dray in, he could very well be his heir, to assume the mantle of leadership for this team. It has to be a guy who starts early and stays around for several years, just like what Dray did. The future does look bright for the team as long as the people at the top realize what they have here. I'm just still disappointed that Kerr feels obligated to play Klay 30 minutes no matter what, just like what he said about CP3 earlier. Maybe it's the only choice he has, because Klay's insufferable ego may not be able to handle being iced out. The only option seems to be ride out this season with Klay and let him go in the off season.

when we outmuscle and bully the other team as a group, Steph thrives, cuz the opposition doesnt have the energy anymore to run with Curry and be physical with him, and Curry himself is really physical...we can really bully teams, and if GP2 gets back with TJD and Wiggs, man, this team would be scary

Also a cool offseason idea I thought of is since we have so much young talent maybe you can do a series called “Path to a star” or something where you look at our young talent or expand it around the league and suggest what players need to develop to become an all star or even superstar in this league. Obviously probably players that have shown enough talent

The thing that Klay has to understand is that you just cant come out the gate taking drifting contested 28 footers.... thats a bad shot for ANYONE in the league outside of Steph. He's making his aging look 10X worse when he takes the type of shots he takes.
He has to realize that as soon as he develops a mindset of using his gravity to create FIRST.. thats when the game opens up for him in other ways. But defenses know to completely sell out because Klay is absolutely hoisting that shot.
I hope he realizes that trying to chase his 25 yr old self will make him look 100X worse than becoming a more cerebral older player who tactically understands when its best to attack.

I'm actually one of those that has been clamoring for Quinones to get some meaningful minutes. I've compared him to another, now former, Warrior guard that spent significant time in the g league, Jordan Poole. he's a far better on ball and team defender who uses his foot speed on defense as well as offense; he's bigger and more athletic; he has flash to his game but he's far more practical; he's got a ratchet for a jumper; and when he adjusts to the length and speed of the NBA versus the g league, we're going to see him getting to the basket. It seems like he's trying to play "the right way" within the offense so we're seeing a much more muted offensive game from him but I think in a few games, if Kerr keeps his minutes up, we will see them running those split actions and guard screens they used to run for Klay. I fully expect (and endorse) Quinones snatching Klay's minutes because of how Thompson become so ineffective on both ends of the court.

The Dominique comp for JK is really interesting. I was too young to see his career blossom but I wonder how long it took him to become one of THE guys in the league.
Feel like his motor and hunger to learn, JK is gonna learn counters to the defensive adjustments. He started playing the game later in life. His handle is better than last year. The reps are paying off. He is five years from his prime

Podz is def a hooper hooper. He knocks in so many rhythmless shots around the hoop that our bigs (Looney and Dray) routinely smoke. Certainly hard to get a comp for him, I'm sure that's why Kerr loves him. On ball defense is probably his only limitation and for him to be a starter in this league he will need to play the 1.
