Am I the only one who keeps checking for the analysis of last nights suns (sons) game? Let’s go Alch!

G 2tha P

Unless he can break through, I’m guessing he’s paired with CP3 expiring in off season. Orlando? SA? Let CP3 be coach on floor to yutes, MoMo fit younger timelines.

Chip Tingle

Yes, literally getting himself back in position to make a play, and repeatedly! And it’s contagious, as Alch points out! Add his pretty shot looking more confident, very encouraging!

Chip Tingle

@Alch - love the breakdowns. Do you think Kerr will give Garuba some mins soon? I’m excited to see him

deb m.

I thought the use of the JK, Podz, Looney, Lester and Gui lineup was interesting. They played big minutes together and pretty much blew the double digit lead. But it felt good to see Kerr investing in JK and Podz getting reps as leaders.

Ejikeme Uzoigwe

I love Santos. He was a standout in summer league. I can see his nervousness is declining and his game is taking shape. Watch him sprint up court! Warms an old coaches heart.

Bres

Kuminga has to be the Most Improved Player this year

Kd Joe

No

Ken Bradford

Never been a Myles Turner fan... must have been the Juwana Mann vibes he gives of

AK

Meh. I don't agree with claiming the refs are against them. It's just not true. Now... is there some systematic thing that causes the refs to give Steph fewer foul calls? I'd be very interested if there is some data on that that somebody (like Thinking Basketball) could analyze. It SEEMS that way. But I'm a biased Warriors fan, so I don't trust my gut. But if there is a bias, I'm sure it's subconscious. (As opposed to refs calling Ts on Dray which, let's be honest, is conscious and hard to argue with a lot of the time...)

John Pettus

100%

Ulises T

Why didn't they just trade Moody? He is going to turn into dust on that bench.

Goku44

Bet 100 bucks the "illness" was him being hungover or stoned out of his mind XD

Neal X

You can criticize without being disrespectful.

Neal X

Yeah, and we all know that Kerr is always about soothing egos and the "pecking order", so we are justifiably worried he's going to go back to veterans get 30+ minutes, everyone else gets table scraps. The only people I know he's going to keep playing are Kuminga and Podz, I think all the other young guys are going to be out of luck.

Neal X

I said it before but I think Podz is going to take over Draymond's role as the team leader. They'd better not get rid of that young man, he brings too many intangibles that are super rare.

Neal X

I'm not about getting into keyboard arguments, I merely commented to let you know the criticisms of Kerr that aren't just coming from "mindless" people. So you can think what you want to, we'll agree to disagree, but don't be dismissing everyone who disagrees with you as stupid, that's just the definition of arrogant.

Neal X

Looney needs to work himself into shape for the post season. I Love Gui and TJD but it's tough to trust young guys come playoffs.

Michael Anthony deCesare

For real the Kerr disrespect has to stop. He's hired to win Championships not get the 1 seed. He's sticky on his rotations so he can figure out what works best against size or speed, etc. He got so much hate in 2022 as well when the team after starting the season hot went cold in the 2nd half. This dude is playing Chess not showing all his cards. And we got a bunch of Checkers players thinking 1 of 82 games really makes a big difference. Plus the fact that the dubs are playing 5 on 8 for at least 25% of the games. Maybe his rotations are exactly what we need for 5 on 5 but not enough to over come inconsistent reffing.

Michael Anthony deCesare

OPj would be great, and only needed in spot minutes. I didn't realize he's still only 30?? He's got so much tread and injury history I kinda assumed he was 35, 36 or more Iol

Karim Q

i think that was them giving klay the night off for his birthday

Ulises T

Gui becomes a 3 and D hustle guy. But I think he has the offensive playmaker skill in him. He may need a mid-range jumper. As of now, he is good.

Natto Santo

If we don't sign Santos watch him end up in Miami as a solid piece lmao

Vulacior

At this point there’s like 14 guys who could be in the rotation when we’re fully healthy! Even if Kerr decides to play the young guys…which ones!!!?? He wants to play 9 guys.. he might be forced to get it up to 11 but..I doubt he’ll go higher than that! Some of them are just bound to get left out (probably Moody, Trace will be in that group. That’s crazy)

FabsThefab

CP3/Podz/Saric is still our highest +/- lineup. That pick and pop has been money.

John Pettus

It's also not remotely an indictment of Kerr if he discovered great talents because they replaced injured guys. Who else did that happen to? - Tom Brady - Draymond Green - Brock Purdy - etc. Talent is abundant and hard to evaluate. Opportunity is scarce. This is completely normal. In fact, if we don't think we have a shot, I'd advocate for flipping the minutes to give the vets 15-20 and the young guys all 20-30 and maximizing our discovery and development. Even if we trade them, we will have developed more assets with this year.

John Pettus

Dario's defense is something else

ChizzyTheKid

Evidence of what? He's made mistakes? What person doesn't make mistakes? But you can't half-ass it: What did he do that was obviously a mistake (not just in our opinion), and was obvious BEFORE he made the decision? If Lester and Gui weren't hitting shots or getting stops, these same people would be on his neck for repeating his "mistakes" with Cory Joseph and that dude he played over the rookies last year. Except this time it's (so far) worked out. So not a mistake? People see JK playing well and (unbelievably, to me) think that he would have played this well if Kerr had left him in as a rookie. That's fantasy. Kerr MADE him play the right way. (Like Alch said about that Pacers dude who is going to develop badly not being forced to play D on the Pacers.) Look - people can disagree with Kerr. But they shouldn't claim he's trying to "sabotage" the team, or that they know ball (and the needs and nuances of the team) better than he does. (Unless they're Alch-level professional, I'd say. Then they're in the neighborhood.).

John Pettus

Please let’s get Otto

Matt Andrews

🙏Alch Gotta say I’m pleasantly shocked at the level of D and energy from Podz, Gui, and Lester, all of whom are longer and more active/mobile than CP3 as a closer in offs. Completely agree on contagious energy from the young bucks! A nice problem…we shall see. I’m hearing talk of poor team D from TJD, but haven’t seen it myself, especially compared to Saric, though Dario obviously opens up the O side. More rest for Loon = better minutes, like you’ve pointed out. Agreed on Klay/OG’s rest on B2B’s, road trips, too. A win/win, despite Klay’s contract status. I’m optimistic this helps good Klay appear consistently. Gafford and Olynick definitely had my attention, but I like your OPJ idea mucho if he’s healthy, haven’t seen him much this year. Keep groovin positively, Alch!

Chip Tingle

There has been plenty of evidence my guy. Kerr IS a good coach but he's made some foolhardy decisions this season, and it feels like he's only had a "come to Jesus" moment recently because injuries and abysmal performances have FORCED him to play the right people. And this is coming from someone who has tremendous respect for Kerr as a person, not one of the fools on YouTube comments who has an axe to grind because they love Trump and hate that Kerr has talked about gun control or whatever.

Neal X

I am equally sceptical about what Kerr will do with CP and GP2 back in the rotation. I can instantly see all the young guys even JKs minutes going back down. Out of Gui and Lester, Gui is the one I would prioritise development for. The team needs big semi skilled athletes who play hard more than yet another tweener guard.

Alasdair Macdonald

I would love to see Gui and TJL should be taking the Saric and Looney minutes

Keith Reynolds Jr.

Why are there always people in the comments literally making up / mind-reading Coach Kerr in order to villainize him? You see it everywhere, and it's really annoying. People act like he's a Manchurian Candidate to actively wants to hurt us, instead of the truth which is that their amateur ass either disagrees with a 9 chip player/coach or it's just the same old bully psychology where the crowd has all decided to unify around hating this one person (or group). People chant catchphrases they don't understand and can't explain, like "Kerr's RoTAtIOns!" It's childish. There's no evidence behind it. It's negative. I hate it. To me being a fan of a team does NOT include constantly working to attack and degrade a part of that team. While notably often NOT putting criticism where it usually should lie - with their favorite players. OK. Rant over. I know I'll always be in the minority on this stuff. I also advocate for referees and against all the people claiming games are rigged. I just want us Warriors fans to be better than the typical mindless sports fan.

John Pettus

At this point I'd much rather have Gui out there than either Looney OR Dario. Just having size isn't enough on defense if there's no skill or energy behind it; Loon has skill but no energy, and Dario frankly has neither... I love his offense but he's not the two-way guy that Kerr seems to think he is. That is Gui.

Neal X

he always is expect when he in that Warriors blue! nah IDK

Athletic Alchemy

I for one am Damn glad we didn't trade our 4 young studs for a rental or a has been. Damn glad. I want to keep Moody, TJD, Podz, and Kuminga. F the old guy rental for a trophy run. It isn't going to happen this year anyway. Next year we dump Klay Chuckitup Thompson and CP3 if they want money, and u know Klay does. Wiggs is playing well right now, he's a risk I'm willing to take.

Russ

This was one of the reasons I didn’t really want a Kuminga for Siakam trade. Kuminga is still very young and still learning, but even before he really took it up a notch this past month, I was looking at Siakam and Kuminga’s per 36 min stats. I know that isn’t everything but one legit reason Siakam looked so much more productive is because he plays around 34 mpg - and a month ago Kuminga was still barely over 20 mpg. Their per 36 min stats were very similar. So, I think we all knew Kuminga’s ceiling was higher but I was concerned that a Kuminga could even be better by the end of this year. Siakam is still a solid vet with experience but I’m glad they didn’t do anything stupid by trading Kuminga.

RJS07

But you know he secretly wants Anthony Lamb or Ty Jerome out there.

decomplexify5000

thats right he is on a funky kind of non guaranteed

Athletic Alchemy

This Pacers team really reminds me of the 2006 era Suns team. They play with incredible amount of speed but not a lick of defense. One can argue Haliburton and Nash have a lot of similarities as well. The problem was those teams were never good enough to make it to the NBA finals.

Jimmy Ji

Gui is already on the roster. The 2-ways are Lester, Jerome and Usman.

forepj

We have such a good stretch now. Kerr needs to sabotage this again because why not? seriously, I am afraid of CP coming back and what it does with the line ups. And I am worried that we gonna stick with CP over the summer and have him back for the next season. We do not need him.

Jakob

Put the word out bros we back up!!!!!

Enzo Cree

😆 true. I think we have to fill that spot though. They signed gui because they couldn't have 2 open roster spots but I guess they can sign Lester though.

Carla Davis

I was listening to Quinn Buckner as well last night. Such a cathartic experience I really enjoyed it

Vittorio Servino

Gui a poor mans Aaron gordon.

Gerrard Israel Laraga

Kerr ought to move Dario to the 4 and play him alongside TJD especially when CP3 returns. That would give some front line size and a rim protector along with a lob threat and a pick and pop threat.

FromTheLandOfHella

Just can’t see CP with Steph again. The defense is atrocious. The laziness oozes off the screen for every player when it’s all the old dudes on the court. Podz has really elevated the energy of all the starters. And of course Dray is taking full advantage of directing Wiggs / Kuminga. But bringing CP back into the starting/closing unit would be a massive mistake. And we don’t have enough games left to try it out again. Please Kerr - keep him in the non-Steph minutes only. Dario misses him for sure and it would be nice to have our bench be consistent again.

Tyler Nevans

As everyone gets healthy, there's kind of already too many players for Kerr to choose from and we know he's got ADD when it comes to the roster

FromTheLandOfHella

Did you notice draymond run all the way over from the bench to pick up podz when he hit the floor? Ive noticed that several times now. Seems like he’s endeared himself to draymond cus HE’S GOT THAT DOG IN HIM

Jaystaypaid

yoooo Quinn Buckner is the man, thank you for mentioning that. Pacers games feel like watching with one of my uncles or something

yan't get right

Idk does Kuminga not look like he could be better than Siakam by the beginning of next year? Just like everyone else I was annoyed they didn’t do anything, but Slater said they were calling around, asking on Olynyk (before Toronto gave Utah a first rounder 🧐) and I would’ve loved a fringe move for a big like Gafford but hey it’s not like that’s changing the course of the season. Now that my expectations are low I can kinda just enjoy what happens. Hell I didn’t think we could go on a 15-5 run to end 2020-21 but we did so what the hell?

Luke Zhang

As always, great content. What was dario doing? he was being the offense only center that he has always been. Plug in Looney for defense only. Where was TJD? Garbage time. Kerr likes to roll out the guards when they are visiting their home town. He did this with Moody last year. This year with Pods in Milwaukee; I believe he started! TJD should have a starter or came off the bench this game. Kerr hates bigs.

decomplexify5000

Very encouraged by the W. Let's keep the run going!

Andrew Lee

Lmaooo miles’ goofy ass falling on Steph gtf outa here

Patrick Mulroy

"like a gynocologist" "baby poop soft" LOL brutal today Alch.

Daniel Fries

I thought Otto was hurt. If he's healthy, I say let's get him. He can still shoot , he big, he can rebound and he already understands the offense and we won't have to play him a ton of minutes and he too can help guide and teach some of the young guys.

Carla Davis

U killed me w the gynecologist line lmao

Rich

Everyone healthy and available we have 14 guys that you could argue should play every night but it's just not possible.

Branden Edwards

That one right there is why I pay the Patreon fee. You are the MAN, ALCH. Baby Shit Soft and being an OB/GYN and the 10 others I don't want to type. You a cool cat keep doing what you do.

Anthony Berry

I LOLed at the "Get Otto out of Utah". I was thinking that yesterday.

Jeffrey Patajo

I love 6 footish try hard guards almost as much as Kerr but they are red meat to mismatch hunting vet teams like the clipper and lakers. Go get another wing. My wish would be Cedi Ozman (not sure he’s available) or someone 6’8 and above who can play some defense and shoot just a decent amount

Hg80

Our rotation is tough but getting Cojo out makes it better even though I really liked his game, man gave 100 every night but with Steph, Cp, GP2, Podz, Lester Q, and Klay fucking hell we don’t need another guard.

sam baines

let's not play no games lol klay got lit on his birthday and took the day off, i respect it

Billy Roberson

Do the dubs win this game if Klay plays? Not trying to be hella negative after a W but at this point he just feels like a negative asset.

Zach Adler

dropped right at the peak of my boredom thank you

MaxShade18

Was refreshing for like 15 for this one haha. Love the breakdowns. (No pressure!)

Lucas

Always on time for my lunch, thanks
