Even though I watched the game live on league pass I didn't fully appreciate how well Klay played outside of the terrible shooting, except the passing between him and TJD which was obvious. Overall I'm still sceptical about this team this season sadly. Because the bad matchups will continue to be bad matchups and there is just no path deep into the playoffs without going through OKC, T Wolves or the Nuggets. And worst of all I expect Kerr to hamstring the team be relying on CP3 and GP2 more than he should when they are healthy again. Not very impressed by Lester myself I'd much rather see Gui get most of his minutes right now more athleticism and size is never a bad thing.

Do we really have to call this "Masterful" by Klay? Can we just say it's competent, and that this is the bare minimum we expect from any guy we put on the floor. I do agree that Klay accepting a bench role is good for the rest of the team for a number of reasons, especially the precedent it sets. But the main reason it's good is that he WAS NOT playing good basketball for quite a long time. This new role is deserved.

Yet another game where the dubs dominate the boards. 3rd in the league now at +3.8 rebounding advantage/game. In games where we have a +3 rebounding advantage or better our win % is .750. In games where our advantage is +2 or less, our win % is .380. And more Trayce will widen our advantage. Nothing reminds me more of our peak years than seeing this team get 2 or 3 offensive rebounds in a row. Does Klay love dishing to TJD because his brother's name is Trayce? Genius move by Kerr to have designated JK times. After SK penalized JK psychically for so long with inconsistent rotations, this is exactly the antidote. And on every possession where JK goes to the cup the other team feels like they're defending against Jerome Bettis. It wears them down, saps them. Didn't realize until lately just how relentless JK can be. For some reason I love that slow deliberate set shot 3 on JK. Take your time big fella. Am concerned that Kerr is going to up Dario's minutes with CP back in the rotation. Say it ain't so.

2024-02-23 19:31:14 +0000 UTCI'm beginning to see them move read and react like the 2016, 2017 years where there is a "flow" to their offense. Steph once described it as organized chaos. But the movement is designed to create a "mistake" by the defense, and the offense takes advantage of it. Last year in the playoffs, Steph said they ran out of options against the Lakers (they were too predictable). Now they have endless options in the offense. Another "option" will be when Chris Paul comes back. The 2nd unit will have the CP/Saric pick and pop. The Klay/TJD pick and roll, etc.. all within 1 unit. Then of course the many plays and IQ built into the 1st unit...so they will be extremely difficult to guard! They can play fast or play a slower pace depending on the situation of the game. Again more options! That flow is also leading to defensive intensity (thanks Draymond) where they want to get out and run. I said all that to say this... they are starting to play with JOY!! The same way a happy hooker is the best hooker...a happy (joyful) team is the best team!

I hope he gets satisfaction out of that, because it was awesome. It could seriously extend his career if he's able to send young bodies into the fray as a dual threat with his shooting. He looks so good out there when he's got someone with good hands to zip it to.
