Thanks for answering. Appreciate it.

I don’t like how JK complains every time when he don’t get the foul call and his body language be off sometimes he needa just play ball

Static2Fresh

Big facts. "Strength in numbers" could possibly be the most accurate team slogan in league history

yan't get right

Second on this team. WCF starters should be 1. Steph - Podski 2. Moody - Buddy 3. JK - Melton 4. Dray - Wiggs 5. TJD - Slow Mo If Kerr develops the team optimally.

Dale Happy Knowles

Alc. That graphic you posted at the end tells the tail why GSW will win 50 plus games this year. Three things that I am not concerned that seem to have fans baffled. 1. JK lack of being perfect. Who is? All the great ones have weaknesses including Jordan but they over emphasis doing what they are best at. Kerr just need to dump the negative if he wants JK to be Steph successor or not. If so just give him as much reps early as we see at 21 he excells the deeper into the season he goes. 2. Draymond antics. Yes GSW finished 6 or so games out of 4th seed and statistically Dray missed games would have covered that ground but where was that team going even if they did make the top 4. The opponents would have box and zero the Chef. Dray antics is always effective in waking the team from their stupor. Sometimes negatively but mostly positively. 3. Klay was the salary dump scape goat as just about all had an underachieving year save for Steph, JK and Moody. Even Steph fell off in certain categories. If we do an analysis of Klay shooting last year it was elite mostly on the right side, below and dismal in the paint and left corner respectively and above average everywhere else. Yes that below his standard but was it really his fault. Look what Kerr ask him to do which he is not asking anyone today including my man Buddy. GS went out and got Kerr elite coaching to fill the intangible void Brown and Deki left. All things equal, if GSW dont reach WCF put it squarely on Kerr.

Dale Happy Knowles

How did they mistreat Klay?

Special K

Sounds like good advice

Ejikeme Uzoigwe

Gothya, I'd recommend staying away from Warriors/Bay area centric news It's not what has been on NBA pods the last week

Stevie Ray

My point is that when deals fall thru the leaks have always been that the Warriors gave a compelling offer but the other side was acting irrational. Maybe it’s true, but it sounds like spin to me. Personally, I find it hard to believe that the team really offered JK 30mm/year. I don’t think the team is dumb enough to make that offer and I don’t think JK is dumb enough to reject it.

Ejikeme Uzoigwe

He’ll probably talk about it in the pod

Ken Bradford

Exactly! Used to happen a lot with the "3rd-quarter Warriors" during the dynasty peak. Chain stops together, and you pile up those 10-2 mini runs mostly on defense and wide-open shots in transition.

Mike Peterson

I was sitting behind the W's bench, the vibes were great! I think Buddy impressed me the most, he was the first one out of half time to come to the court to get some shots up before play continued. He was glued to Steph also like you pointed out! I think Gary was just chilling in the tunnel, cuz he didn't have room on the bench. Thanks for the content as always!

Daniel Kiflie

Yeah he would be a good pickup. I could see letting Moody or GP2 go to get him. I think the biggest single reason we need another big body in the paint is because we KNOW at some point... Draymond's taking himself out of the rotation. A tech in game one already reminds us nothing has changed.

Neal X

You'd have to link me the details on the reported packages. But for Markkanen, sounds like they never fully committed since they didn't want to include Podz - not sure about the Clips the details never fully leaked

Stevie Ray

Rumor has it that the warriors made an AMAZING offer for PG, but the Clips were salty. I also heard the warriors made an AMAZING offer for Lauri, but Ainge was tripping. Come to think of it, pretty sure I read that the warriors made Klay an AMAZING offer, but Klay was in his feelings. Now, I’m hearing the warriors made JK an AMAZING offer but he’s being too arrogant...

Ejikeme Uzoigwe

I am a huge JK fan and I am also happy that there are even more guys he has to separate himself from this year (Melton, Hield, SloMo). Like if you can be special on a squad that's 12 deep, here's the bag. Otherwise, you get the Moody

Jim

Maybe, the number 150 over 5 has been thrown out there alot. The amount cap space next off-season is not a lush market - and teams usually don't hunt restricted free agents I think you're right But not if turning down the guaranteed bag changes his approach

Stevie Ray

UNNNC! We back baby! Any chance you might do a little breakdown on Klay's game? Not too much, but maybe the first one he had in Dallas tonight? I saw the highlights and was kinda salty. Like ..... who this light-skinned MF think he is? LMAO.

TJ Maccc

It's a business. He saw how they miss treated Klay and know first hand of his own low minutes to keep him from commanding the max now. Sacramento did it to Buddy. Buddy settled for less as he was reminded he will get another contract. JK is 22 he needs to know what his worth is. Whatever happens this year he will not get less than what GSW offered him. Besides GSW can't trade JK on his rookie contract and get like value back. JK camp was very smart.

Dale Happy Knowles

Steph we play longer than LeBron. He has atheist 3 championship runs coming. Kuminga will be a big part of that manifesting if the GM stay away from chasing a super star. That model obsolete.

Dale Happy Knowles

The Worriors for president. They have unlocked Buddy to showcase his strengths for the first time. Kudos!

Dale Happy Knowles

I wanna believe in the talent, but feels like his route to becoming an All-Star is likely better suited on another franchises in a wildly different system. Hopefully we're wrong and over the next couple weeks this narrative evaporates. But there is something unlikable about his personality that seems to alienate himself from the rest of ballclub.

Stevie Ray

Podz remind me of Kidd instead of Nash now. He is a baller, and we need him on the floor for second unit or even fist unit. Melton and GP are making people scared to dribble around them. That is the key to break boston. Again if we rebound, we can beat anyone on any day

Natto Santo

"Emotional fit with the coaching staff". aka "Is he going to Aiyuk us?" I don't think JK cares anything about the Warriors. Only cares about himself. Always complains... to the refs... to the media... Hasn't delivered on the opportunities he's been given.

John Pettus

hopefully I continue to get strong streams lol

Athletic Alchemy

JK has to understand his floor game is what is going to get him payed, no one cares about a 20 point guy who does nothing else

Athletic Alchemy

not mad at that one

Athletic Alchemy

I like that idea.. one of my daughters teams did that and they stole a bunch of wins early in the year. But I remember in about game 3 I sitting there thinking coach you cant do this playing 7 girls...and sure enough they fizzled out. but if you have 12 that can play!

Athletic Alchemy

for sure that could be part of it

Athletic Alchemy

Yeah i still think we need another big who can protect the rim and bang with the true 7 footers. Its too early, I was thinking maybe we could get Zubac if the clippers season goes sideways

Athletic Alchemy

Dunleavey has done a good job keeping guys motivated too

Athletic Alchemy

I am almost relieved the 9ers season tanked, the games feel like they eat up the whole day! That said Im a slave to it lol. Always appreciate your takes Jansen

Athletic Alchemy

its interesting my Dad knows several couples who have adopted African kids in the bay, and he was telling me how quickly they get spoiled and forget what they came form. Not saying thats Kuminga yet... but there are signs

Athletic Alchemy

yeah for sure.. I know one thing he moves better than Clingan

Athletic Alchemy

spoke on it in todays YouTube video, it might just not be meant to be for Wise..

Athletic Alchemy

it is, there will be nights where its more beneficial to let some one get going rather than next man up

Athletic Alchemy

plus less ridiculous falls at the rim

Athletic Alchemy

good point about blowouts, we all tend to think about a 3 point barrage, but in reality it is usually chaining together 3 or 4 stop in a row that makes a team pack it in and roll over

Athletic Alchemy

Very much like the earlier years Strength in Numbers Warriors where you had guys like SDot who could always be counted on to get you a mid-range, and everyone would defend well and move the ball.

Neal X

Inorite.

Neal X

We back baby!!

Taelon Um

Bruh How tf did the league let the warriors get buddy hield 😂 😆 😂

Kj Robinson

Just in time for lunch, Alch in the clutch! I love our team-construction. Glad they prioritized defense. The biggest issue we had last year was giving too many minutes to sieves. 60+ combined min/game where we were giving away freebies. Scrambling to rotate because of always having to help CP, or giving up lay ins because Klay didn't get back. This season our weakest defenders are average at worst: Hield, Kuminga (who has great defensive upside if he can learn the reads), and Steph (the over-helper). Hield is making it up with effort - and his playing time depends on it, with Moody and Waters scratching for minutes. Everyone else (in the rotation) is plus-to-elite. Great team defense wins close games and makes blowouts possible. It's gonna be a fun season.

Mike Peterson

I appreciate your comments on Steph as a Distributor/Playmaker. I also feel this would extend his career, keep him more mentally engaged in the game, and agree that this roster is better built for him to be taking a more active role. Steph off-ball is either him entirely out of the action (which isn't useful), or him getting fouled while he's being a decoy. I don't know if the gravity is worth the damage anymore. But as the ball handler and primary threat, he'll get abused/injured less, and I probably have a much more enjoyable game.

Thomas Ogas

It’s really a fine line with all the depth we do have, one side of me thinks that it doesn’t give enough minutes for some of these guys to really get into the flow of things. The other side is the rotation should be 10 but matchup dependent so some nights guys like Gp2 and melton dont play and i think that’s the coaching staffs plan. The depth and steph sitting out 4th quarters reminds me of the strength in numbers warriors back when he won his 1st 2 mvps but more like the 14-15 season

Brad30

Average is probably 9, most teams play 8-11 and in the playoffs it’s usually 8-9

Brad30

The Bronny comp is pretty accurate for Scoot right now. Scoot's obviously better than Bronny, but at times he never seems to have a plan when attacking the basket. Leaves you wanting more. Otherwise, good start for the Dubs to this new season. On a different note, unfortunately, as I was typing this, I just saw the news that Wiseman did indeed tear his left Achilles last night. Dude just can't catch a break. I had my frustrations with him on the Dubs, but I still wanted to see him succeed even if he's no longer on the Dubs. Hopeful for a full recovery.

Nick Elliston

From the lack of clear reporting around the Kuminga extension - and yet the volume of stories coming out - feels like ownership/front office offered him the biggest number they knew he would still turn down. Feels like they need him to prove it on the court and the emotional fit with the coaching staff and they feel comfortable to battle in restricted free agency rather than locking themselves in long term. But it's what most people expected all summer

Stevie Ray

Alc - can you take an extra look on Walker Kessler for the upcoming Jazz game. He should be one of the few above average bigs available on the trade market at the deadline. He played well against Memphis in their opener (but it was against the giant rook and no JJJ).

Stevie Ray

I think Kuminga didn't FULLY grasp the gravity of his decision until game time. A kid from the DRC who grew up without internet turning down $100+ million adds a lot of pressure. Hope he doesn't get out of pocket like Klay... but if he does, I think the veterans/coaches will be more willing to correct the behavior. Play your game, hit your free throws, make the right passes, improve your defense, and you'll get your $150m+

thomas

Definitely can’t help

Ejikeme Uzoigwe

Steph-Buddy friendship is a real thing, hopefully he’s not just the rebound splash bro 😂

Luke Zhang

For starters, glad to be back with you for another season Alch. Obviously we've all been here through summer league, Olympics, and preseason, but its crazy that I've been with you on Youtube since the very beginning and now nearly 9(??) years on patreon. Looking forward to another season of talking shit and calling for Kerr's head!! Onto the game: I'll preface all of it by saying the same as you, this was basically preseason game 7. I knew Portland would be probably the worst team in west but DAMN. I didnt think they'd be THAT bad. I wanna see a game between that lakers preseason team vs. this portland team. How much is Bronny puttin up in that game? xD The first quarter lowkey had be concerned a bit. We go 6-0 in the preseason and we think we are firing on all cylinders, and then we're missing layups and the entire backboard for the first 12 minutes lol. It was nice to see the defense keep them in the game. But yeah....if this was against basically any other opponent, thats a 35-15 first quarter.... Kuminga was definitely pressing. I honestly dont care about his offense right now. But I am severely concerned about his defense. I said this in the preseason. It was nice to see his 3pt shot look so smooth, and he clearly put a lot of time into working on that. But if its at the cost of his defense.....then whats the point? Like you pointed out, nearly every defensive breakdown started with him. It wasnt always his fault, but him being the common denominator cant be ignored. This will probably be the worst opponent we face all season, and it felt like he was the worst defender one the court. I dont see teams attacking him in isolation because of his physical traits, but I fear that putting him in a bunch of offball action will be the way our defense is exploited. Thankfully, he is no Jordon Poole. But Im just worried that all the time spent working on his 3pt shot was equaled in time ignoring defensive IQ. He's already clearly not worth the max (to us anyways). But if he's trying to up his value, he really needs to get better on that end of the floor. Speed round of things: - Buddy looked great. However, apparently there is a cycle with him on new teams. He plays great the first 10-15 games. Then hits a rut and becomes inefficient. We'll see. I liked what I saw though, especially defensively. - Of COURSE Draymond gets a T in the first game. Very surprised to see Kerr call a TO to calm him down. Actual growth from Kerr?!?!?! We all know Draymond isnt ever gonna mature. So its crazy to see that growth from Kerr lol. 15 techs left until suspension. I got my money on him getting suspended for the christmas day game. - Podz is an actual menace and I think he should keep the mask even when he doesnt need it anymore. Simmons ran into Podz' face and then had to check out of the game hahaha. I'M HERE FOR BRANDON "BANE" PODZIEMKI. - Funny how much 1 game flips our opinions. After the first lakers preseason game, we might be thinking we're gonna be better than the lakers. Then the lakers play their first reg. season game and they look better and scarier than us lol. - Subject to something going horribly wrong on Friday, the season "starts" on Sunday. Very curious to see how TJD plays vs. Zubac. Excited for the season! Glad I have something else to watch now that the Niners are basically a practice squad.

Jansen E

They should have never let them get Buddy!

Mikey H

This is the time of overly-optimistic delusions, but it beats the alternative. Podz could get votes for mvp of this game, without scoring a point. Plus 34, without scoring a point. The turning point was when the second unit entered; that’s something we’ll probably see often this year. Five stellar Warrior reserves against five Blazer GLeaguers; it ain’t fair. Many impressive moments but I liked that time, late in the game, when TJD snatched the ball from the Blazer big guy and twirled in for a dunk. Whatever weaknesses Kerr has you must acknowledge he’s a good motivator, good at keeping everyone’s motor running at a thousand rpm’s.

Jerry Heverly

Alch, are you still of the opinion that we need to hunt for a "true big man", and if so, I'm curious what you see their role being. A true big who can still contest out to the 3 point line? Or just a "positional defender" who can hold down the paint alone? And who are you willing to part with to try and get that type of big?

Neal X

i think the defense improved a lot. its connected and giving effort is the norm. then we can run, share the ball and everybody is locked in. last year we didnt get into this flow and space cadets klay, cp, saric and depressed wiggs were hard to watch and had negative impact on others.

Andreas Wiedemann

Seven players scoring in double figures with another three with 8 points! Steph played the most minutes at 25! This is how we prevent Steph from wearing down over the course of the season.

Jimmy Ji

Let's go. Teams are so thirsty for players that can "create their own shot anywhere on the floor" but we seem to have gotten a LOT of players who can create shots in very specific parts of the floor. Buddy can create his own highly efficient 3s, melton can create driving in the paint opportunities, wiggins can create in the midrange, and TJD on the lob threat. It's a slick way to maximize the gravity around older steph and open up even more clean looks. Just a bunch of micro-shot creators instead of a single second star

yan't get right

Anyone know what average rotation of players is on a NBA team, on a night to night basis? Warriors playing so many guys, I'm wondering what's the median for an NBA team.

WarReady

Do you think Podz's shooting struggles could've been because of the mask? I mean, in the last preseason games it didn't seem to be much of a problem but I think it's possible?

Harry Setrakian

Hey alch, I think a way for Kerr to maximize this deep Rotation is to run full court press more often with the goal of making opponents take longer to enter their set. Normally the argument against it would be energy cost for these type of aggressive defender, and we don't want to tired them out so we don't press. But with such deep bench, I think we don't have to worry about that as much and should throw in full court press here and there as much as possible. What do you think?

Viet Huy Vu

Yeah can’t argue that, I’m legit hyped for this season, think we getting a top 5 seed just based on chemistry depth and talent, someone going to be shook in the playoffs to see us

RES

Hot take and maybe a good take? Steph doesn’t lead the league in 3’s this season

Ben D

Thanks Allison! Its going to be a fun year

Athletic Alchemy

yessir! Im surprised how much Buddy runs

Athletic Alchemy

his pick up looked so much better in preseason I dont think that will be a big problem once he settles down

Athletic Alchemy

I as well

Athletic Alchemy

I agree we got give that lineup a little while

Athletic Alchemy

Wigs body language is night and day

Athletic Alchemy

Draymond really is one of the most unique to ever do it.. at that size!? He dominated the paint last night against two 7 footers lol

Athletic Alchemy

I think he will actually get better with TOV if he sticks that mind set, like anything else you get in a rhythm with it

Athletic Alchemy

Alch good call on the fact that when there is a defensive breakdown JK is in the vicinity. I've been making the comment that he is being asked to do like 10 things at an elite level at all times by Kerr and at 22 that is a big ask, his solution has been incremental scoring improvement at all 3 levels and a slow progress on playmaking and his handle. He devotes little time to rebounding and POA defense and NO TIME to Team Defense. So we have this version of him. Like Poole and Klay before him and with their example I find little fault with this, and you get paid in this league for being a BUCKET, not a rebounder/passer/defender. If you add these things you get paid more but scoring is KING. Love to hear your thoughts here or on Discord. Great Breakdown.

Anthony Berry

That Wiggins "I just want us to have fun!" line after the draymond T had me laughing 😂

Andrew Lee

Great team game from the Warriors everyone was locked in! Ppl gotta chill on Kuminga tho, first game of the season give him and the starting lineup time I believe they will exceed expectations

Chris Thomas

Video quality was top notch on this one.

Nathan Glanzer

Im just happy wiggs is back

Gerrard Israel Laraga

Loved the breakdown as always! I am excited for this season!!

Allison Hendrix

Yeah going back over this, Kuminga and Trayce too a bit were a little anxious, we know why whether you agree or not. Kuminga has elite cutting ability, starting that first to get him going playing off steph and Wiggins split action might be nice he just needs some extra coaching and assurance, his confidence is fine.

Sarcasm 360

“Relive last night’s game with Uncle Alch over lunch?” Hell yeah.

Paul Cox

Been waiting on this! Love to see the energy and athleticism up and down the roster. Being able to keep up and even outpace these younger teams. Love the breakdown Alc. Keep up the good work

Steven Jones

ngl I popped a tent for slomo too lol

Daniel Fries

Jonathan *Butterfingers* Kuminga is already getting on my nerves. Dude loses the ball on drives all the time. He can't hold on to the ball....

Tail0rmade

I’m with you on Steph going for a career high on assist just hoping he don’t get crazy with the turnovers trying to get them

RES

Starters seemed rushed, need to settle in, that means Kerr needs to not start panicking and throwing the lineups out of wack next game

Sarcasm 360

We got the yin-yang of the Draymond Green experience tonight. First game tech juxtaposed with absolutely sensational defensive play in the 2nd half, playing off Grant to disrupt drives and passes in the restricted circle. Happy to have you here to break it down for us Uncle Alc

benji lenett

Alch is on it, all is right in the world! JK will relax. Podz finds so many ways to impact. GPII impact in short minutes. Wiggs is smiling/laughing like JP is back next to him. Happy for the dude! Did you see him wait to sit on timeout until he had dapped up whole squad? I don’t remember him EVER doing that!

Chip Tingle

I was cringing as I was watching Kuminga press, he needs to just stay calm, scan the floor and he'll get whatever he wants, pressing will only get him benched

Old Runner

I loved how steph played. It’s just portland but I think this is a winning game plan if we stick to it

Offtopic K

I appreciate it early brother for us UK folks. Thank you

Calum Stapleton

feels good to be back watching your breakdowns

Dami I

Any opinions on whether JK at the 4 should be tried with Melton and Wiggs at the 2 - 3? We’d either go small with Draymond or bigger with TJD.

BruceWayne

Oh man i was on standby waitin for this one coach! Fun night of hoops all around the league man.

Kenny Bobby

At the end of Q1 I was on the trade machine trying to figure out what we can get for Wiggins+Kuminga lol by the end of the game I was like ok maybe pump the brakes a little...

Dr. Sanjin

Been waiting on this all day!

BJ

It’s safe to say this is everyone’s lunch special lol

Kd Joe

So happy to be back

Roman Jirec

Missed watching these with my food
