Was he ready to be a 3 last year. Is his overall shooting to the level of a burgeoning Allstare… Is he better than Wiggins? Offering JK $30 mil per year seems about right … JK is not in the 1st tier of up and coming rookies but he might be on the upper crust of the next tier. In this NBA that means you do not get the max. His agent should have know that.

We will see what the league thinks in the summer but what JK camp knows is what Buddy learned when he signed $90m versus the $120m his camp asked for. There are additional contract to get. JK at 22 will have on near max at 22, another at 27 and possibly other at 32. $$$$$$$$ But as I said before this max ask to me is to see what GSW value him at. I can almost guarantee if JK had signed the 150 Kerr would have manipulated his play into a trade. Now JK can pick what team he goes to if Kerr don't want him. Rest assured if GSW want him they will match whatever he is offered. Time will tell. As I often say to those who trying to learn the nba business, watch rhe games with the sound off.

And the idea that he's only a little behind the top players in his draft class and will catch up to them soon is just a complete guess. Maybe he's already peaking at a lower level than they are. It's not like he was out injured these past 3 years, he was playing and practicing every day so even though he didn't play as many minutes that's not fully an excuse for why his development has been slower.

JK and Moody are 2 - 3 years behind most of their Draft set in terms of development yet both produce on par or above per minute of play time. I believe in terms of efficiency as well. 2 Both have significantly greater potential if played minutes compatable with their draft set. So who of their draft set are more valuable to the NBA than these two? Hmmm! Now lets look at them individually.. 1. JK is a leopard who has not been set free to hunt but in a short window last yr when his performance demanded everyone attention. Prorate that window on a a whole season and who does his numbers compare to? Would Mikal Bridges or Pascal Siakam sound reasonable? Moody had no choice. He had no body of work on his resumay but two memorable games to demand bigger. Alc, it would be interesting to see what your projection would be afterwhich we can talk about if JK agent was dumb. JK will get more in the summer. 82 games plus a minimum of 12 is a long season and JK got progressively better with time. Remember he is only a new 22. Reps with Stackhouse, Draymond and GPII whispering in his ear can only bode well if Kerr stay away from fueling his distrust. With his athletic ability, Kobe/DWade killer instinct and Stackhouse defensive fundermentals and tenacity, $150m would be an insult. This is the business of the NBA when owners give the word to be frugal..

I really noticed the mind switch from JK and the whole squad. Small distinction but in the split second decisions like loose balls and fast breaks if you are fully bought in you will process quicker and make the right read; e.g. executing a fast break, or knowing when to shoot vs pass

Really feel like he needs to stay aggressive like this and be able to sometimes just say fuck it and attack the set defense, instead of only trying to play within the system. It takes the most advantage of his crazy athleticism and opens up the court so the ball movement on other plays is more effective.

Pels literally are without a starting center on the roster and now without their starting point guard they traded Dyson Daniels for ---- all that said, this Warriors team is the best watch in all of basketball. And this ALL DOGS ON DECK identity growing - it's not coming from the "the heart and soul" of the Warriors in Dray - it's coming from the youth and the newcomers. Matching salary for a big has to come from somewhere - so if Wiggs has become untradable again - there's only one significant salary that can be used on the trade market.

As for Buddy playing in the second half, I was all for it, I knew he’d get a few more threes in like 2 or 3, but he scored 19 in the 4th. Crazy Podz brought his A game just like I asked and Kuminga had a good performance overall And Moody quietly had 17 points The most exciting part was their defense and effort, especially when Looney and GP2 trapped and got the steal. Ppl were cheering on basically every offensive and defensive possession, free throws, etc. Also, the audience only really showed up/filled out at the start of the 2nd quarter (rt when they went on a run).

That dude is 100% that white dude who, when you see him show up to the 24fitness court, you immediately cuss under your breath cuz you HATE playing against him. He may not drop 30 on you, and he may look bad on some possessions every now and then, but he will just keep coming at you with no regard for himself or anyone else. If I recall correctly, two different Pelicans players dove for a ball on the ground with Podz and BOTH times they came up worse for wear. Lol its kind of hilarious. Theres people like Alvarado and CP3 who are "annoying" in their own ways, but I guarantee you that Podz is gonna earn a reputation that as soon as you see him subbing in, the very first thought in guys' minds is "Oh for fucks sake, not this dude". That being said, a 40pt turn around is kinda of crazy. Its not a coincidence that without Curry, our TOs plummet hahaha. But I agree with you Alch, Warriors were playing good defense in this game, but NOP just shot it really well in the beginning. But eventually the defense paid off and they started committing TOs like crazy. They looked like us!!! Kuminga had a better game. I think Kuminga and Waters coming off the bench to abuse 2nd units might be a key thing here. For Kuminga, I hope he knows that theres no shame in coming off the bench. Yeah it doesnt look as pretty when youre trying to get $150mil+, but his rim pressure + Lindy's spacing could be a real problem. Hope they can repeat it tonight. I expect some adjustments from the Pels so we will see what Kerr does to counter

Letting him just get to his spots with rhythm dribbles not hanging on his body tiring him out off ball or trying to move him around when he is at the perimeter just felt strange to me.

2024-10-30 20:11:14 +0000 UTCAwesome game but the biggest performers to me was the coaching staff. Consider they did the number one reason the team played so well. No it was not benching JK but keeping the chemistry of best fit units together. With Steph, Wiggs and Melton out, they did not just slot the next two best players up but moved the 3 shadow starters up and put JK on the second team to keep the defence/offense balance. Kerr did nit do this once in any of the last 3 years that I saw so kudos to his Assistants. My man Buddy did what we know he can do when we feed him. Podski woke up and did his do that we know he can do and so did Moody who I said will be starting the WCF. The two who really had big games was the Rainmaker (Waters) and the Leopard (JK) The first played defence which most did not know he could play and the latter played defense most say he can't play. I liked Waters from last year performance and JK was allowed to do on offense what Kerr had him doing all preseason. A leopard instinct is always to attack and he thus did not have to be on his heels to feeling pressure to hit the 3s or be benched. I believe credit has to go to the assistant coaches imprint since missing with Mike Brown and player coaches absence in feeding players strengths and letting the secondary weapons follow. Kerr seem scheme up plans but is weak at making in-game adjustments. Hats off to the coaches for putting the players in a position to succeed. Buddy Buckets 2 the world! Vinny Johnson reincarnation. Love it!

Buddy was hesitating on the pull just enough for the defense to recover to him. It was exhausting just watching that 1st qtr. I know Lindy is a kinda small but I trust his decision making under pressure a lot more than Buddy. However, when the shots start falling for Buddy, oh my lawd!

I think that is what is making this team look special. Pods May be taking that “heartbeat of the team” title from Draymond. Dray is my favorite player, but to know at the end of his career this team will still have a dog, makes me feel good.

Shots won’t always fall, but that kind of team defensive effort and ball movement always translates, and is something in your control. Good defense is a decision. Hope he continues that when the team is healthy, plays people that are playing well and cut out people who aren't like he should have with Hield in the Clippers game. Regarding the trusting him to shoot himself out of the slump argument, I think it's only justified if Lindy or Moody also doesn't have it. Gambling on him to figure it out while being a target on defense is not something we need to do with Lindy and Moody being available as options. Kerr Gamble got 1 where Hield shoot himself out of the slump and 1 where he shoot us out of the game. It worked last night but I don't like the cumulative process.

With the og starting line up, it's not the best to make kuminga be successful. I think eventually Draymond at center with another shooter will help KJs game open up. But it's best to preserve Dray for now

If Steph, draymond, and steve to an extent is still as good as we would consider them to be on paper. Then they have enough help to contend for a title. Steph is widely still considered a top 10 player, draymond a top 5 defender and steve a top 3 coach in the league today. I’m not accepting the no help (disregarding injury) excuse this year if we’re a play in team or first round exit.
