But JB is a better shooter, has WAY better handles, is a MUCH better finisher, and a better passer than Podz. Not to mention that JB is has a scorers mentality. Podz is a MUCH better connector (I know, I know) and gives so much more effort on D than JB it's not even fair. I think Podz will be a high level backup PG and is nowhere near as bad as he looks lately. But without elite ball handling and finishing there is NO small, unathletic guard that can be a star in the NBA. JB, Nash, Steph, Stockton (for his time) were/are all elite ball handlers and finishers.

I think we learned some things about Dallas. They're not good enough, even at their very best, to put us away. Lively can be exploited on switches. Gafford can't handle in the short roll. They have a lot of talent but a lot of weaknesses to exploit.

I mean he makes the most out of every situation he's been given and is looking for his chance. People said he's been inefficient, you can see him improving in that. People say he's not moving the ball well in the motion offense, he's improving. People say he can't defend well, he's improving. Shooting, taking care of the ball, he's trending upwards at an insane rate. I think if you just let him know that he can demand the ball without being reprimanded for making a single mistake, then I think he would be great in those late game situations. I mean shit, Steph is allowed to make mistakes after mistake late recently. If we aren't going to get on him for those horrible dribbling turnovers and ill-advised rushed shots, then we shouldn't crucify JK for that slip against Gobert, because he delivered against Houston a few nights earlier. He can definitely do it!

The others will bring them there and then watch as the superstar brings it home. I don't think it's a Curry/ Kerr/ Draymond trust issue as much as it's a mentality issue for Wiggs/JK. They just aren't the kind of players that are the " give me the ball and get the f_ out the way" type guys. They almost have to be forced to do it and I'm never confident of anyone doesn't have it naturally regardless of whom is on the floor. More often than not, he'll just stand like a statue for 5 Mississippi, staring down Steph, not looking at the rim or second options or even making a pass fake. If Steph doesn't come open, then he'll just force a difficult pass whether or not there's a window. Pretty nuts that we expect year 2 players to make a decision in 0.5 secs and tolerate this from our "decision-maker."

But given what's already happened, I think if another trade happens GP2 unfortunately will most likely have to be included to match salaries. Then I think I boils down to either moving Kyle + others for a center like Vuc which commits you to JK, or you move JK + others for a power wing like Cam Johnson which frees up the backup 4 for Kyle to play. Right now the lineup constrictions force Kyle to the 3rd PF position and virtually no playing time. Kerr probably let him know this once they committed to starting JK and increasing his minutes it's an either or scenario.

Like plays made for them that suits their strengths. You can even make it misdirection plays, where we act like it's for Steph but it's not. They have to be early in the shot clock, not last ditch desperation efforts. Until they make that decision and change their bad habits, not even a super star added will be able to fix that, cause they would just go back to spamming Steph at the end.

Total Kerr guy, system fit, high BBIQ, defender, passer, connector. etc etc. But when JK moves to the starting 4, and Draymond moves to the backup 4, that means no more Anderson. At all?! Is that what's going on? We had minutes for Kyle when it was Green/Kuminga/Anderson as the forward rotation, but maybe that was because JK was getting less minutes. Now that JK is getting full starter minutes, and Draymond isn't losing any minutes, there's nothing for Kyle? Whatever is going on, what are we holding onto Kyle for now? What's the point of keeping him? I love the guy. At least give him back to Minnesota. They'll use the hell out of him.

If i were running a team I'd happily give up layups all day long if it meant taking away the 3 ball from most teams. As for this game it was more competitive than I thought it would be in terms of the score but it never really felt like we had a chance tbh. As for Podz I'm sick of seeing him on the court. I have no feelings towards the guy I just think it's crazy how many minutes he's playing for a second year player with underwhelming physical attributes and no amazing achievements to point to. Hopefully things will look better with Shroder taking a good portion of those minutes. At this point JK and Wiggs need to be the defacto No 1 options. Steph continues to look real old and constantly looking to him offensively is very very stale. There was a lot of hero ball from him down the stretch of this game and it was ugly. Anyone trying to argue that he's still in his prime etc is simply not watching games at this point.

I say, the next 8 close games, get an even attack of Steph, JK, Wiggins and one of the 3 pt shooters in the last 5 possessions. We can't just go to the same double pick n roll when they just blitz it and now Steph has 8 seconds on the shot clock to hit some magical shot. We've been getting it. JK and Wiggs have been incredible and even Draymond is shooting well. I know exactly why we keep losing all these games late. We want these guys to score 20+ to help Steph, but when the games on the line we just revert back to the same Steph hunting habits and it's predictable. Other teams realize that our coaching staff has no real trust in anyone but Steph so they just load up on him and he takes these ridiculous shots all the time. Meanwhile, Kuminga and Wiggins were keeping us in this game late, and once again we don't go to them because Steph is the superstar. Well whats the point of trusting them at all if you aren't gonna give them a shot at getting a bucket late. How can we ever know if those two have what it takes to be a second option, when the first, second, third, fourth, and fifth options late in games are terrible shots and Steph doing dribble moves against two defenders. I just want to see one game where one of the plays in the last 2 minutes is a Kuminga post up, or a DHO to Wiggins going right towards the basket and Steph off the ball, not being the priority in the play. Just ONCE! Like, look no further than Steve Kerr and Steph as the reason we are losing these games late. We cut it to 3 on the backs of everyone, an even effort. Then Steph and Kerr say, "good job but we don't trust y'all. Leave it to us to close it." Then they shit the bed ..AGAIN!

We’ve been talking about “second star” since the slump began and all summer we heard about Podz being untouchable or the pg of the future in those talks with PG or Markkanen. So now seeing Podz just get cardio in on the floor when Lacob pushed Klay out the door and big upped Podz all summer is just a slap in the face to fans who just want to field a competitive team for the first time in 3 years. Not saying everyone should feel that way but it definitely gets frustrating when he was pumping his chest out all summer then saying things like “Yeah Steph and Draymknd they look up to me”

Are we sacrificing our offense just to make Dray seem like a key to it? With his passing degrading I think we have to ask ourselves if him being the ball handler forcing everyone else into Kerr’s system. To be honest Dray might be the only guy on the team benefiting from Kerr’s system and sure when it works it works, but when it doesn’t you get ill timed TOs,much less TOs off the bench
