Hey peeps!
Above is a picture of the receipt I got from the post office, LOL
I mailed out so many posters/pendants/pins that the receipt was very lengthy! The people at the post office said I should start having a company do all my mailing.
On the one hand, that sounds nice. On the other hand, no one cares as much about getting my stuff out as I do. And I don't mean that as an insult to someone--I just mean, I'm invested in making sure my fans get their cool merch, whereas a shipping company isn't. I'm just another customer in a long line of customers.
So, for the time being, I do all the mailing myself! This month, for everyone who got a Patreon pendant, you should also be getting a letter from me. I hope you enjoy!
Currently, I have two chapters up on Patreon, and in April, I want to have a whole bunch more! The book begins with Gray returning to Astra Academy (a little slower when compared to Death Lord) but should be fun in re-introducing the characters and where they're currently at, as well as setting up some of the major things/themes that should be dealt with.
I think this book is going to be 60+ chapters (at least from my outline) so the longest in the Astra Academy series. Hopefully you're all prepared!
I'm about to start uploading chapters of this in 3 chapter bursts! The ending was the best part of my outline, LOL
We're about 60% of the way through this, and I wanted it done by April, but obviously I a tiny bit behind. I want, desperately, to share some news with you all, but until I sign contracts, I don't want to jinx anything. o.o
If you're on the ARC team, please be prepared. I'll be putting up the pre-order VERY SOON!
A couple of publishers expressed interest in buying this. I posted the male version of the story, along with the female version, and while I think I could write a novel based on both, I'm a little conflicted. If I do write it (either way) it'll be posted here on Patreon for you all to enjoy!
The bestiary edition STILL hasn't arrived. I blame Easter (not that I hate Easter, just that I think the post office gets busy around all holidays).
I want to show you all this cool edition, so I'm said it didn't arrive before April.
Gigi has gained weight and has recovered enough that the vet believes she'll even go into heat. They say she's much healthier and happier than when John and I first got her, so that really brightens everything!
I might be at LibertyCon this year (fingers crossed) and I'm definitely going to be at DragonCon, along with most of my writer's group.
Ryan Tang, my co-writer on Crown Tournament, will also be there. If you'd like the meet the gang, I hope you consider attending!
I struggle with depression, but people here on my Patreon/Discord/Facebook really help me out of those weird dark places, lol - thank you all so much. I also started all the paperwork for the adoption process, should John and I not be able to have a wee lil baby.
Have any of you heard that country song "That He Didn't Have to Be"? I listened to it a lot as a kid because I always hoped my mother would get married so I would have a father, lol (it's not as depressing as it sounds, I swear) but I listened to it again recently and I thought that even if I don't have my own children, I hope I'm a good parent to others who desperately need one.
ANYWAY, I'm trying to say: thank you so much for being awesome! Thank you for helping me be much happier, for supporting my career, and generally being amazing people.
I hope I'll have lots more fun stories for you all shortly.
Shami
