Yoo In Soo (the bully/villain) played his role so well that I didn't even recognize the actor in Alchemy of Souls! There he is a goofy golden retriever idiot lol It's such a stark contrast to his role here

Up next Weak Hero please!!! And I truly enjoyed re-watch with you guys! Thanks a lot!

Andes Eka

I know someone who does the pats with his. That's I smiled. 🤙

Diamond Dave , I saw you snickering at the scene with how Pres was patting On-Jo’s back when she was hugging her lol.. that’s what they do in k-drama’s. So you guys are going to be seeing a lot of that whenever someone hugs someone who’s in distress.

ParkMinJeon

Glad you guys reacted to his show. I can’t stress enough I hope you guys react to Netflix: My Name and I hope others whom have watched the show reciprocate this to you as well.

Robert Lopez

Haemo Kinesis

I’m not sure if this has been talked about before but you guys should watch sweet home! It’s such a good show and they came out with a s3 not too long ago

Wait are they gonna watch weak hero class? because I was really hoping they would

Empress

In the scene when the military is checking buildings to determine safe zones, you mention that a zombie might've been down in a building or a basement; it wasn't a random zombie, it's the girl who gave birth and tied herself to the door to protect the baby

DD: “They probably want closure.” Answer: “And they want closure…” MQ and Oak: 🙈

Super enjoyed rewatching this with you guys! I'm glad y'all liked it. Sorry for the long post incoming. Just a bit of an info dump now that we're at the finale: A few of us have commented about the parallels to the 2014 Sewol Ferry tragedy and the overarching theme of authorities failing kids. Out of 325 students going on a sophomore class trip to Jeju Island, 250 died. In total 304 out of 476 passengers died. It led to a full scale investigation, uncovering high level corruption, suicides, and eventually some (but according to many, not enough) indictments, and eventually contributed to the impeachment of the President. There are definitely intentional allusions to that, especially the yellow ribbons in this final episode. The yellow ribbon campaign became a symbol of not forgetting the kids who were abandoned by authorities and to the parents of those children that the community supported them in their quest for the people responsible being brought to justice. Recording messages to their parents is also likely a direct reference. Since the ferry was not far from the coast, there was cell service, so students were able to text their family. There’s also footage of the students in their cabins during the sinking that was recovered from students’ phones (where you can hear the PA system playing the automated message telling them to stay in their cabin, put on a life vest, but don’t move. It’s dangerous to move.) I think Su-Hyeok tying himself to Nam-Ra in one episode could be an allusion to the fact that some students trapped in the ferry were found by civilian divers with their life jackets tied together. Like they didn’t want to be alone in their last moments. Some other things that could be commentary: the Captain and much of the crew were among the first people rescued from the ferry. I’m reminded of that when the commander in the fully operational quarantine zone asked “how many students have we saved so far?” It seems the kids are an afterthought. And previously you mentioned the choppers doing hot laps. That’s also very much the reality of what happened that day. They later claimed they thought they were just surveying the sinking of the empty ferry. They rescued only a few people they saw that came up to the top and never even attempted to go into the ferry and check for survivors (like what happened with the first chopper at the school that only picked up the one student on the roof). Unfortunately most students trusted the Captain and crew, who were among the first to be rescued. They left the automated message telling them to stay put playing over the PA and then didn't inform authorities that many passengers were left below decks. Most students obeyed the message stay put. It’s estimated that if that message hadn’t been playing that most people would have naturally just come up to the deck and been rescued. It was private fishing vessels that saved the people who did come out or were swept out of the ferry as it tilted and sank. Even as Korean coast guard sat nearby. Even though both the Japanese navy and US Marines were nearby and had offered assistance, but were turned down. It was just an absolute failure of humanity and decency in leadership. Not a recc for a reaction, but generally for more info, I recommend the Rotten Mango channel’s episode about "The Sewol Ferry Tragedy" on YouTube for an indepth picture of what happened. Or for a shorter watch, there's a short/documentary called “In the Absence.” A heads up, especially for the Rotten Mango one: you will be heartbroken and infuriated.
