That big naked corner at Monza they were jogging on was the old Monza track, not the current one.

Not really into racing movies all that much but I did like this movie. Nothing groundbreaking for me but like I said, racing movies ain't really my thing. This was a fun watch, probably just a one and done for me though. There was a time or 2 where I had to see how long we were in the movie but I still enjoyed it. I give it a 4/5.

I'm Batman

I watched this in IMAX, and my ears were busted by the end of the movie. But it was definitely impressive lol.

Since you guys were so impressed by the steering wheel: The wheel you saw in the movie is actually from a Formula 2 car—they used F2 cars for filming bc real F1 cars are way too dangerous and difficult (and also too expensive) to drive for actors. The steering wheel looks cool, but real F1 wheels are absolute beasts, with 20–30 buttons controlling almost everything on the car. They’re fully customized for each driver and are insanely complex. What you saw is basically the kid’s version of a spaceship cockpit. 🏎

I don't know why everything feels cool when it comes to F1. Anyway, a great movie.

For the public, who know nothing about Formula 1, this is a good film. It is beautifully shot and the actors are good. The race footage is impressive in the cinema, but it's not much different from what you see at the races. But the story in the film could never have happened in real life — no one would hire a driver who is over 45 years old and who hasn't raced in F1 for more than 30 years, not to mention the fact that Sonny was disqualified after the race in Hungary for deliberate actions. I've been watching Formula 1 for over 20 years, and I was pleasantly surprised that Quinn is so passionate about it. If you liked the film so much, please watch the movie Rush (2013), which is based on real events and is much closer to the reality of F1. There is also a movie - Grand Prix (1966), which features footage of real F1 cars from that era. When you watch it, it blows your mind, with legendary tracks from the old SPA and Monza configurations...

Please, you have to watch The movie Rush (2013) Its the Original F1 movie.

Good movie, but honestly it doesn't hold anything against Top Gun Maverick. Maybe it's just me, but except for a couple of scenes most of the camera angles are the same as in the real races, so it wasn't as exciting for me as for someone who never watched a f1 race. I've seen so many f1 races the camera angles were normal for me. The coolest shot was the last lap of Sonny. When they introduced Sonny I got the feeling they gave him some character traits of Kimi Raikkonen, the coolest and one of the best f1 drivers ever. The coolness, the attitude towards the media, the attitude of just driving as fast as you can...that was Kimi Raikkonen. Also, the "Just et me drive, will ya?" reminded me of Kimi's famous radio exchange in Abu Dhabi 2012 - "Leave me alone. I know what I'm doing." and "Yes, yes, yes...I'm doing all the tires. You don't have to remind me every second." He came back after a two year break from f1 and won his first race of the season after the break with his new team Lotus in Abu Dhabi 2012. Some things that weren't that accurate: 1. Every driver has his own crew. So the crew that did the pit stop for Pierce shouldn't have been the same crew that did the stop for Sonny. 2. When Sonny drove out right in front of Verstappen in the pit lane at Monza would have got him a penalty for unsafe release. 3. There's no way that a driver, who didn't do any testing on the track beforehand and just came out of the hospital would win the race starting from the last position. 4. All the things Sonny did in the first race would have ended in him being disqualified from the race or at least multiple penalties. Except for those couple of inaccuracies I appreciate and respect the effort to make the movie as realistic as possible. Quinn, you said, that there was no real villain, but I think that Joshua Pierce was an a-hole right from the beginning. His character only changed when Sonny had the accident. But I didn't really like his character through the whole movie. Great reaction from you guys. Quinn, I didn't know you were such a big f1 fan. I was a big fan for many years (2001-2021), but haven't watched a race since Kimi Raikkonen left and Verstappen was given the title by the stewards in 2021. There's a lot of dirty stuff going on behind the scenes, so I'm not interested anymore.

Even the Brad Pitt “haters” can’t deny the movie was great 🤣 nice follow up to maverick 📈 9/10 that Romain crash was freaking insane glad he was okay after !!

Yes, this is the one I've been waiting for! The perfect group to re-re-rewatch it with!
