China vs India | The State and the Society

Awesome Video But I have some questions in regard to the India section of the video. Namely the claim of weak Indian governance before foreign invasion. But In my travels in India I witnessed huge forts, palaces, step wells, and especially temple complex's that dot through out the sub continent that predate these invasions. So how could a weak state but a strong society build such difficult things without central planning, taxes, and ect?

Agreed with Samhan. UP is _not_ well-known in India for its good governance; it's known for the exact opposite in fact. Excellent video otherwise! (would just recommend editing that particular portion of the video; the source seems questionable and it would raise a red flag for any Indian person watching the video)

I strongly suggest cutting this out of the final video as it would mar the credibility of an otherwise brilliant video. I would really question this source. Well governed by what metric ? Certainly not any social indicators or GDP per capita.

I fear not, it was always not that good, it was however one of the biggest states, and by that definition one of the riches kinda like germany is the richest country in europa but norway and belgium are much richer per inhabitant. Also the state started kinda bad, the growth over the last few decades was decent but not great. you actually showed a development chart by state for india in the india and parkistan video. Also the coastal regions are overall richer as most of the colonial institutions that worked were located there, kinda expected with the britisch

Loved the video except for the weird claim that Uttar Pradesh is known for good governance. It’s in fact the state with the worst social indicators and very poor law and order.
