Chapter 130: My Name is Shawn

Wolverine was born in 1832. During the years Captain America was active, Wolverine also served as an American soldier in World War II. Naturally, he was familiar with Captain America but didn't revere him the way civilians did. It's no surprise he didn't recognize him immediately.

When Captain America disappeared, Wolverine had been captured by Japanese forces and sent to a POW camp in Nagasaki.

"That's right, he's Captain America—Steve Rogers," George explained with a smile. "I've been thinking that our school could use a few more teachers. Of course, ordinary people wouldn't really be suitable for our students. And the new teacher's character is just as important—we can't have anyone leading the kids astray.

"So, I thought of him." George gestured to Captain America, whose icy cocoon was now almost entirely melted.

"I remembered how Captain America disappeared in the Arctic after crashing his plane. Given the super-soldier serum in his body, I figured he might have survived. I used a tracking spell, and, as luck would have it, I found him.

"His integrity is beyond question. On top of that, he's a master of hand-to-hand combat and an unparalleled tactical strategist. He could teach our students how to coordinate better in battle."

"So, you're planning to make him a teacher at our school? What makes you think he'll agree?" Wolverine was skeptical of George's idea.

In his view, Captain America was a weapon created by the government—an obedient soldier. Once revived, he would likely return to serving the authorities, leaving little chance of staying to teach at their school.

George chuckled at Wolverine's doubt. "Don't be so sure. Besides, isn't that what Professor X is for?"

He turned to look at Professor X. When it came to persuasion, Professor X was among the best in the world.

Moreover, Captain America wasn't exactly how Wolverine described him.

Steve Rogers wasn't blindly loyal to the government. If he were, he wouldn't have opposed the Sokovia Accords later on. He adhered to his own moral compass and was unwavering in his convictions.

He joined the army not out of blind patriotism but to protect the weak and help end the war. Now that the world was at peace, his allegiance to any organization would depend more on personal values than orders.

The only reason he had worked with S.H.I.E.L.D. after being revived was due to his love interest Peggy Carter and his friend Howard Stark, who were involved in its founding. Add to that Nick Fury's manipulative moral appeals, and Captain America had little choice but to help.

Waking up 65 years later, with almost all his loved ones gone and the world entirely transformed, Steve Rogers would be grappling with immense emotional and cultural shock.

With the right approach, convincing him to teach at the school and guide young mutants on how to survive might not be too difficult.

"I'll give it my best shot," said Professor X. "Honestly, I admired him when I was younger."

Professor X nodded in agreement, clearly supportive of the idea of Captain America teaching at the school.

"If you're both on board, then I'm fine with it too," Wolverine said, shrugging. "I could use a drinking buddy anyway. I heard he can hold his liquor."

Although Professor X now had a cloned body, he had given up smoking and drinking. George, who didn't drink at all, spent most of his time training in the combat simulator. Wolverine was in desperate need of someone to share a drink with.

"Since no one objects, let's wake him up."

By now, the ice encasing Captain America had fully melted, and his body functions were rapidly recovering. George waved his wand and cast a revival spell.

"Revive and awaken!"

The spell forcibly roused Captain America from his unconscious state. His eyes snapped open.

"Where... am I?" Steve Rogers murmured, staring at the ceiling. His last memory was of the plane crash and being encased in ice.

"Hello, Captain Steve Rogers!"

A voice filled with friendliness jolted him into alertness. Instinctively, he rolled off the bed, grabbed his shield, and assumed a defensive stance. Eyeing the three strangers in the room, he demanded, "Who are you people? Where am I? Why am I here?"

"This is a school, and we are the principal and teachers," George said calmly. "As for why you're here, that's a long story. There's no need to panic. Sit down, and we'll explain everything slowly."

But Captain America remained wary. His gaze swept over the high-tech equipment in the room. Disregarding George's reassurances, he bolted for the door.

"Whoa, buddy, you need to calm down," Wolverine said, stepping in his path. But Steve wasted no time and threw a punch.

Wolverine, taking the hit to the face, retaliated with a kick that sent the Captain stumbling back.

"You may be over 90, but I've got a century on you. You're still outmatched!"

Steve raised his shield, ready to fight, while Wolverine unsheathed his Adamantium claws, prepared to show him what he was capable of.

"Expelliarmus!" George intervened, casting a disarming spell to wrench the shield from Captain America's grasp.

He followed up with another spell, binding Steve in place. "Incarcerous!"

"Tying me up like this? You must be Hydra!" Steve growled, his distrust deepening.

"Enough of this," George sighed. "Let me show you something."

After signaling to Professor X and Wolverine, George grabbed Steve and flew him to the heart of New York City.

"Take a look below, Captain. This is New York in 2010. You've been frozen for 65 years."

Steve stared in disbelief at the cityscape below. While parts of it were familiar, much of it was vastly different. He saw towering skyscrapers, glittering lights, and modern cars zooming down the streets. Slowly, his expression became one of stunned realization.

As a kid from Brooklyn, Steve knew New York like the back of his hand. A lap around the city was enough to convince him that this wasn't the 1945 New York he once knew.

Returning to the school, Captain America was visibly shaken, lost in thought.

"Professor, he's all yours," George said, undoing the bindings and leaving Steve in Professor X's care. He then returned to his training.

The next morning, after a night of persuasion from Professor X, Captain America finally agreed to stay at the school as a teacher.

At 9 a.m., Black Widow arrived as scheduled to process ID documents for the students. However, upon spotting Captain America in casual attire, her expression immediately changed.

"George, doesn't he look like..."

"Like Steve Rogers, Captain America?" George interrupted smoothly. "Oh, it's just a resemblance. He's our new teacher, Shawn!"

George delivered the lie with a straight face, showing no hint of guilt.
