River Phoenix was a fantastic young actor. He was most famous for this, for playing young Indy in Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade, Little Nikita, The Mosquito Coast, and My Own Private Idaho. He was nominated for an Oscar for his fantastic performance in Running on Empty, very good in the sleeper drama Dogfight, and he was also incredibly charming and funny in Sneakers as a young hacker. He died tragically of a drug overdose at 23 outside The Viper Room with his little brother Joaquin by his side. I would definitely suggest that you check out Running on Empty, My Own Private Idaho, Dogfight, Sneakers, and The Mosquito Coast to see more of his range. He was lost far too soon.
