We shoot some diabolo pellets (made using Svarog Russian molds by Jesse Crowe)  backwards.   Will they tumble?

Backwards pellet - are they stable?

Comments

I think that the cavity is filling with air and creating its own "nose cone" helping to keep things stable.....

Still picking up pieces of my blown mind over here. I'd have thought the square edges of the diabolo would serve as "brakes" in the shell, digging in and making it difficult for the projectile to exit the casing.

Jesse first sent us the Sveroboy frag slugs and after we posted that video, Svarog contacted me saying they wanted to send me more of their molds. I just had Jesse pick out some molds and I think they sent him 4 or 5 of their molds. They did send him the different inserts for the diabolo mold and he sent a little baggie of each different-weight slug. I think I got my wires crossed and the ones in the video were 32 grams, the heaviest of the lot. The lightest is 25 grams.

Jeff, I realise that you guys don't have the time, However, Svarog offers this mold with inserts that increase or decrease the projectile weight, also, the slug is a expansion from the lyman mold and many loaders are disappointed with in the accuracy of the Lyman product. It would though, be an interesting segment to see if bullet weight makes a difference in your tests (backwards Vs, forwards). so far from what I have seen, the Svarog mold out shoots the Lyman for some reason although it is a close copy. Keep up the good work Jeff and crew. Dave

I confess... I guessed wrong. Thanks for answering the shockwave question!
