Just saw kill Bill 2 again. Have you done rock salt?

DOSGamerMan

You're describing 5.56 and 5.45 :P

Glad to see the relevance of the slug for modern use.

John H McMillan

Who cares, it was great fun to watch

Welcome back, Danny. Another outstanding video, guys. Great job on the loads, Jeff. I have some friends that hunt elk with muzzle-stuffers, and they swear by Minie-Balls. Even with smoke-poles and black powder, that chunk of lead drops 'em hard and puts meat on the table. Question: If "Old truckers never die, they just get their Peterbilt", does that mean Old shooters never die, they just get their shoulder rebuilt? Hang tough, Danny.

Bear Barre

Good Lord, Jeff. We just get Danny back and there you go trying to take his shoulder off again. :-) Very entertaining video BTW. Seriously hard hitting stuff, those Minie' balls!

Ed Gibbs

One of your best vids yet. This is why I am happy to be a patreon.

It's all good. This was another great video. I now realize those Minie balls may be a very valid hunting solution (with a proper load)

You guys have waaay too much fun. Another great video.

Dr. Strangelove

using a shot cup kinda defeats the purpose of the minie ball. what made the minie ball revolutionairy was the fact that the hole in the base would cause it to expand inside the barrel to engage the rifling, which allowed for them to be made smaller, thus allowing for soldiers to load rifles (which was previously a time consuming process due to one having to ramm a full sized lead ball down the barrel while it is activelly cathcing onto the rifling) as quickly as they could load muskets.

The giant bullets used in the Civil War explain the reason so many legs and arms were amputated when these monsters hit a bone.

Eugene Luder

i know fuckall about shotguns, is it possible to go to the opposite extreme? smaller caliber light(er) weight, high speed?

Andrew

WOW, that vest impact is something I have never seen before! Your last video already had some impressive vest results, but this tops it by dozens of yards! Not that I want to get hit by any slug while wearing kevlar, but this one makes it even harder to imagine the effect on a human body... they would be DEVASTATING!
