.416 Barrett Sniper rifle (upcoming video)

The .50 bmg is  a 100 year old design.    The .416  was designed in 2005  by Chris Barrett as an improvement.    Few people I have talked to have even heard of the .416,  so here is a video from Future Weapons showing it.    The clip is ridiculously melodramatic,

Gregg and I are planning to film a guest shooter's rifle this week.   The rifle is a M99 chambered in .416.    This is a faster and slimmer bullet than the .50 bmg,   but lighter.  It is a more-efficient shape and stays supersonic much further than the .50.  (over 1.2 miles)  The .416 is a wildcat round that uses a .50 bmg case,  cut down and necked down.

I'm not sure what ranges we will be shooting at.   We had to find a different shooting location to safely shoot this thing.    Anyway,   I should be posting our video in a week or less.

Stay tuned!

I'm looking forward to your video, but just can't watch this crap. ;)

Future Weapons! I remember this show! It was full of weapons that never amounted to anything! There was the advanced combat rifle, meant to use caseless ammunition, that had an integrated grenade launcher with programmable fuse. Ian Showed one on forgotten weapons a while ago. Then there was MetalStorm! That just stacked bullets and powder inside over a dozen barrels and ignited them electronically at up to like, 1 million rounds a minute.

I busted out laughing at ,”...they call it... a cold bore shot.” πŸ˜‚

This is going to be freaking awesome!

So OG finally let you into his toy box.

All those years of people commenting "you're going to shoot the cars" is finally relevant. LOL

Only slightly melodramatic πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

I hope you have more specs on this round when you review it, can't wait.

How does the .416 compare to the .408 Cheytac?

When you do your video with OG, you need to use a lot of quick zooms and show the same impact footage at least 10 times. OG also needs to practice his dramatic voice.

Whats up with the 240P
