Ceramic Shotgun Slugs- Outstanding properties

Evan made some slugs out of ceramic insulators found in microwave oven magnetrons.   They don't have a fancy,  aerodynamic shape by any means,  but  had outstanding stability even without spin.

thank you Patrons!

I just want say this so you guys or your veiwers don't get sick. You need to let people know that they should not be using the ceramic from old microwaves. It's very unsafe, especially in a dust. It obviously makes a great projectile but some of the pink ceramics from old electronics and antennas are toxic. I'm sure if we can find a way to make slug designs out off cooking and dinner wear grade stuff.

So... How good would this be as a home defense slug? I know this is one of those eye rolling questions, but this legitimately seems like a good slug for it.

when i was a kid (25 years ago) we used to be able to buy these strange .22 air rifle 'bullets' . The projectile was essentially just the projectile part of a normal .22 round, but were made out of high tensile steel or white ceramic with a Teflon 'skirt' around it that provided a perfect, airtight fit in the barrel. The steel ones were supposedly for 'live' targets while the ceramic ones were for target practice and sighting in. We thought they were great as they would shatter and throw sparks everywhere if you fired them at a hard enough surface.

I wish TFM could detail the pucker factorizer. Truly miss seeing those parts. But, it is a good thing ‘employees’ are monitoring; thus protecting me from original/educational engineering/development. The mouthpiece and joystick components surely provide access to a reacharound.
